My car got towed today because I don’t have it insured and my registration got revoked because of it. I don’t have a job and neither does my gf although she gets social security every month. We can’t afford to get it back on the road from the towing company and also get it insured and registered again. What do I do at this point? I feel so hopeless at this point because my car was my life line to be able to get a job.

Write it off. Find a junk dealer who will pay you $5 for the title (and pay the tow company), and get on with your life

This is par for the course for my son. I tell him each time that he's going to get stopped for no reg, no insurance and no license. I tell him to keep minimal stuff in his car so when it gets towed he can just hand the title over and walk away. It has happened twice.

He then gets a job on public transportation, save enough for another shitbox, wash and repeat. I'm waiting on his next "my car got towed. can you come pick me up?" call.
