These are unfortunate cases. Nothing but a reality check on his end will work. Sometimes it's actually all the expectations that come with being hypermasculine Chad that cause them to run away into what they think is the opposite because they're scared or dislike boxes. Unironically cutting contact from society as completely as possible for a while out in nature seems to help because there's no one around to reinforce it from either direction.
