It’s because there’s no real good way to introduce our situation without me eating a ton of negative reputation points in the process. I’ve never treated her badly otherwise, we usually chat about pets (she wants to work in a zoo), music (I even introduced her to one of my favourite bands and she liked it), TV shows, but nobody is going to look at that, they just see the age gap and tutor-student relationship and freak out.

She's a female, meaning she's more interested in the romantic/social/love aspect of the relationship rather than the sexual aspect even if she doesnt say it out loud. the only way you can fix this is to get introduced to the friends one by one. in that setting, you and your gf will be the majority and if the friend does not like you, he/she will have to be quiet about it and you will have plenty of chances to show you are a normal person and your gf is happy with you.

It was basically a lucky accident. I started tutoring her a couple of months back, twice a week, was fairly professional for the first few weeks, we would periodically take breaks during study and just talk and have a bite to eat.
