I have been married for a year and I want to show my wife how much I appreciate her on our first wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, I'm struggling to come up with how I can do this.

Drawbacks:
- I'm a bit of a moron, so I haven't come up with good ideas about what to do
- Not flush with cash. I have between 150 - 200 bucks.
- My parents never celebrated their wedding anniversary and I can't recall a single time my father bought anything for my mother.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Married guys of /adv/, what do you do for special days?

A really romantic dress-up date at a good restaurant, or, if you can afford it, a night or weekend at a romantic hotel

Plan an event. Escape room, minigolf, VR arcade, something you guys don't normally do. She'll love the novelty and thought that went into it.

Follow that up with either cooking something she loves, trying a new recipe (I highly recommend aglio e olio or mushroom risotto, stupid simple and delicious) or having her favorite fast food and cuddling up watching movies. It doesn't need to be a grand gesture, just remind her what your love is like at its best and most mundane.
