Terrible creatures that are the biggest vectors of rabies
Fear them that if you find one near you where it shouldn't be you'll remember to kill it and get a rabies vaccine series

Why do they hold them like that, so tight and squished
Looks like the paint meme of human taking a pic of animal

Found out about these guys awhile ago, they’re super cool.

>spectral bats are primarily carnivorous, feeding on birds, rodents, and even other bat species.
>of the 1,400 bat species in the world, this is one of 9 that feeds on vertebrates.
>largest new world bat
>mate in monogamous pairs, where the father will wrap his wings around his family in their roost.
>their thumbs evolved large curved claws to aid in prey capture with a crushing bite
>there is still a lot unknown about them.

Why are bat faces so diverse? Some look "ugly" while others look like dogs.

Depends on what they hunt. The ones that look like dogs tend to be fruit-eaters and the ugly ones tend to eat insects or other animals.

>how can i get rid of a bat in my house?
first, determine if there is a young/captive one inside, in such a case you will need to call an official wildlife rehabilitator in your area.

How can things that are basically entirely different animals develop flight with fleshy appendages when it seems extremely difficult for them compared to birds? Also, they allegedly descend from a bat-winged rodent rather than dinosaurs which just happened to have the same ability? Yeah right.
Just found out fruit bats don't even use the echolocation that bats are known for.

Here's a bat I found inside once.
