Are you ready for the orb?
Je suis fier de toi, anon.
im imagining anon with the walking stick from jurassic park but instead of a mosquito inside ball of amber, it's resin ball full of ticks.

aww yiss, here we go boys
>>4991326 (OP)Finally, orb time
Here's the plan, since it's past 11PM already and I want to check a couple of tutorials again: tomorrow, I'll fill this mold* while adding the ticks.
So far I have 3 concerns:
-Air bubbles. I'll try to mix the resin gently and thoroughly. The ticks probably won't help keeping it bubble-free.
-Getting the exact mix of resin right. It's a BIG mold (11 or 12cm in diameter).
-Spreading the ticks somewhat evenly. I'm concerned they will go up or down or whatever as I pour the resin. It's going to be bitch putting them back in place if they go touching the walls. All while trying not to create air bubbles.
Do you want me to take pictures of the process?
Pic related is a sample, I have other jars stored.
*I purchased a silicon mold with a big top opening, instead of those cheap plastic half-spheres with a tiny top opening.
>>4991522Pictures of the process would be interesting, if only to see how much of a ballache the process would be.
>>4991522>Do you want me to take pictures of the process?Yes, if it doesn't get in the way of your process
>>4991334Technically, I could make it amber-like if I add amber color when mixing the resin. But that would delay the process significantly since I have no such thing.
>>4991529>>4991531Oh well, at worst it's going to be an absolute embarassment if I fail.
>>4991522Can you do it in stages? Where you pour let it thicken slightly, push the ticks into place with a toothpick or something, add more and repeat. Idk though I've never worked with resin.
>>4991326 (OP)hell yeah, I'm monitoring this thread
>>4991522Tick-anon, PLEASE watch a bunch of evan and katelyn videos where they pour huge batches of resin.
Make small batches of resin and do it layer by layer. If the ticks float, when the resin starts thickening, you can push them down with toothpicks.
(I know you don't have this) vacuum chambers are used for pulling bubbles out of resin. A quick pass of a blowtorch pops bubbles on the surface of the resin.
Resin is exothermic and shrinks when curing. If you pour a huge ball of resin it's going to heat up, cook the center ticks, and probably crack/deform when fully curing, unless you pour in smaller layers.
If you don't have a vacuum chamber, you might have to embrace having air bubbles and make it part of the look. Resin is also unlikely to seep into the small tick feet. You can also make the resin mix up to 10% acetone to thin it and seep into the ticks better.
>t. watches way too many DIY videos>resin time resin time resin time do do do do
>>4991639I saw Peter Brown at a farmers market, but I didn't remember his name so I didn't tell him I liked his youtube channel.
>>4991522>Spreading the ticks somewhat evenly. What if you deliberately had them marching in a circle around the perimeter?
>>4991326 (OP)Fuck yes tick effigy
I overlooked something: the ticks are frozen. If I pour them straight from the freeze, they'll be somewhat frosty. But if I leave them out a bit before, they'll be glossy/wet (I'm not wiping 100+ ticks). That might not look good even though, as other anons pointed out, resin will heat up. Which might look even worse.
>>4991639As you can guess, I have no vacuum chamber, nor do I own a blowtorch.
I tried to pour multiple layers last year, and you could clearly see the strata.
Perhaps this could be feasible if I monitor it carefully and add more another layer before it becomes too thick. The risk/payoff ratio doesn't seem that good to me (since I'm not a DIY guy at all). Any idea how long it would take for the resin to thicken just enough?
>>4991723I did a little more research and apparently "deep pour" resin is intended for thick pours. Probably still has tick-density issues.
I can't answer specifics other than testing before hand and seeing if it works. Seems like people are anticipating the project, and it might be better to test casting ticks and a bead-ball separately before attempting the main project of them together.
Maybe a resin-tick domino is a good starting point? Or a cursed resin-tick lolipop?
>>4991725Tick coasters to disgust all your guests
>>4991729Great idea.
I'm doing more research and internet recommends silicone molds, and also a release agent. It seems like you can just buy castable silicone, and use that to make custom resin molds? A tick-resin lolipop is way more cursed than an orb desu...
>>4991742Yeah you can make silicon molds. Some people will use a disposable cup. You can hang your lollipop into the cup with a stick, pour silicon in cup. Once it is set you strategically cut the mold in half so you can fit it back perfectly(registration marks) then you can put the mold back into a new cup and pour.
Carving wax is a great way to sculpt a custom mold, usually smaller stuff. You can also just copy whatever you wanted.
There's a deep rabbit hole to silicon molds, resins, and all that shit. Get reading! :D
>>4991729Why would I want to disgust my guests? When it comes to coasters, I usually use those lovely marbled leather coasters (no idea where I stored the nice dark red and blue ones).
>>4991725A tick orb it shall be. Or whatever comes close enough as a result.
>>4991748I'm really not that much into DIY, sorry anon.
>>4991782Because you're the tick orb guy!
Setup is ready, I'll cook lunch and get going afterward.
I think I'll cast the ticks straight from -20C right into the mold. Come what may.
I found the missing coasters, too.
>>4991799Yes but I'm not a weirdo.
I mixed the resin and it's resting a bit.
It looks suspiciously opaque! I don't really see how I could have fucked up since I was only mixing two components and stirred slowly for 5 minutes.
>>4991326 (OP)I'm not up to speed, do you want to encase that poor hedgehog in resin or what's goin on?
>>4991841At least it cleared up.
Slowly poured at first. I managed to get rid of the big bubbles.
>>4991844>do you want to encase that poor hedgehog in resinNot at all! I've been caring for the wild hedgehogs living in my garden for 5 years. Turns out they're usually full of ticks, so I usually pull them out. And store them in jars because what am I supposed to do with them?
So I decided to try and cast them into resin to make a tick orb. Others anons seemed to be interested.
>>4991849Pouring much more.
Turns out they keep floating up, and I can't get them to stay elsewhere; if I push them down they'll come back when I pull the tool because of the viscosity.
I guess it's a failure?
Side view. It's pretty frustrating.
It also turns out that it takes more resin to fill the mold than water. The same mass of water filled it up completely.
I'll try to push them down some more as it thickens up, but my hopes are down.
>>4991855can you fill the mold up completely and then turn it around everytime the ticks float up? maybe at some point they get suck in the middle
>>4991856I was supposed to fill up the mold completely. I'll know for next time than you need more resin than water.
Surprisingly, the ticks and lumped up and surface is already hardened. It's REALLY heathing up, I can barely hold it.
Took a little clip because it sounds like hell (turn up the volume): https://files.catbox.moe/3odzj3.mp4
What a disaster!
Even the ones that managed to stay at the bottom are now full of bubbles like I'm deep frying them.
How would you recommend avoiding this?
>>4991858oddly pleasing video. the experiments must continue.
>>4991858Yeah, you cooked the ticks. They started releasing all their moisture and causing bubbles.
You may be able to dehydrate the ticks, impregnate them with resin, cure the resin, then add them to the tick orb.
I was also thinking you could get a very thick resin, paint the inside of the sphere mold, stick the ticks to the thin layer once resin is tacky, wait a lil more, then fill the sphere with the stuck ticks.
You could also use a clear orb that is a smaller volume than the large orb mold, stick the ticks onto the smaller orb, place orb into sphere mold and fill that with resin. That way you would only be pooring a half inch or less of resin and avoid all heat based problems
Idk just spit orbing here.
>>4991858I warned you aaaaaaaaaa
>resin time resin time resin time do do do do
Should have done a lolipop...
Well, it's not like I've got a finite supply of ticks.
Found those 20 minutes ago.
>>4991917Yes. I had two surprises up my sleeve for you guys if this worked out. It failed miserably, but I'm not empty handed yet.
>>4991919>>4991923I'm all ears for tips to prevent such bubbles. Multi-layering would fix them floating, but the heat would still be too much, wouldn't it?
>>4992003Layering the resin and letting it partially cure before adding more reduces the amount of heat generated at any given time and increases the relative surface area, so the resin reaches lower maximum temperatures. The drawback is that layering can introduce flaws at the layer boundaries.
Painting your ticks individually with a dollop of resin will also increase their density (reducing their bouyancy), reduce their relative surface area (causing them to introduce less air to the main pour), reduce the maximum mass of curing resin during your pour (reducing the heat needed to dissipate), and insulate them from the heat of curing resin somewhat. Another thing you can do to reduce the temperature of your pour is to use slower curing resin and pour in a colder environment like on a platform in a cooler with ice or a cool cellar.
Good luck!
>>4992003I would do this
>>4992013I'd also add the ticks, let the resin cure a bit to thicken (they float up) then use a cotton ear cleaner to push them down. Hopefully the thicker resin won't let them float back up. Then once pushed down you add the next layer and wait for it to thicken. Google AI says you can pour fresh resin on top of partially cured resin, so it's probably correct!
https://www.artresin.com/blogs/artresin/how-long-do-i-need-to-wait-in-between-resin-layers
>The stickiness of the partially cured resin will create the necessary tooth, allowing the two layers will bond as they cure simultaneously.I'm completely tick-balling here. I'd test to see how long it takes for resin to cure enough to hold the ticks down, but not so long they get crushed.
>>4991326 (OP)I thought you were gonna put a live hedgehog in resin at first
>>4991326 (OP)You will pay for your crimes.
>>4991522>that jarI'm gagging just looking at it, no I haven't looked at the rest of the thread.
Here's the result. At least it looks pretty intriguing. As you can guess, the giga air bubbles are from ticks being cooked, you can discern the little bastards.
>>4992013Using multiple layers looks like a good option, if I can get it to work without having multiple strata.
Painting each and every tick individually is, sadly, out of the question: there are hundreds of them, and they're fragile because they're frozen (in the following pics, you can notice a good number of tick legs that broke off and float in the orb).
>>4992128Don't worry, I'm taking care of them.
The top is a mess since I managed to trap a handful of them back there.
And a pretty weird pic of a tick which touched the mold when it thickened.
I can spill the beans now: if the orb was a success, I wanted to do a random draw for the anons in this thread and send it to (you).
>>4991326 (OP)THE ORB RETURNS
>>4991855>>4991858Does the resin shrink as it cures?
This is exactly the kind of mistake I would have done.
>>4992405I don't think it shrinked, anon. Or it's negligible if it did, and I didn't notice it.

You should let insects dry out before putting them in resin or the liquid and bacteria inside them will start to rot after a while. Insects tend to float on resin before it cures so it's best to add a layer of resin with the bugs, wait a couple hours to harden a bit, then add the top half layer of resin. Curing resin does release a lot of heat but it doesn't shrink. You should always make more resin than you think you need because some will always get stuck to the mixing container or stirring tools.
Here is the second silicon mold I own. It's smaller than the first one, so it should be somewhat easier.
To be honest, I wanted to make a VERY cheeky kind of orb as a surprise to (you) with that one, but I can't do it until I master the way of the orb.
And here is most of the ticks I have left. I'd say there are ~250 in there, it's a few cms deep.
>>4992625It sounds reasonable, but dried, flat ticks would be pretty boring compared to the plump, engorged ones I have.
>wait a couple hours to harden a bitSurprisingly, the surface was too hard to penetrate without damaging the whole thing after only ~20 minutes. It's going to be very time-sensitive.
>>4992356>>4992360>>4992365Blessed be the effortposter.
Mistakes are learning experiences anon. This was not a waste. More ticks can be harvested (the hedgies won't mind), and even if the next orb fails, it will be better than this one. Just use what you learned to try not to make the next one fail. /an/ is a slow place, we can wait for you to get our holy icon right.
Besides, once you acquire this skill you'll be able to cast anything in resin you want. Figuring it out is always the hardest part.

Speaking of hedgehogs, here's my favourite one. I've been taking care of him since 2021, but I found him (a bit) slimmed down and wandering outside before dusk, so I took him to make sure no fly laid eggs on him (it's deadly) and to help him gain back some weight. All going well so far, even though he's now well beyond the average life expectancy for wild hedgies. I'll release him in a few days.
>>4992777>All going well so far, even though he's now well beyond the average life expectancy for wild hedgies. I'll release him in a few days.maybe you can keep one inside
>>4992777Nice trips
The hedgehogs are adorable, are they really that common in France? Do they just let you come up and grab them, or did they have to warm up to you?
The closest equivalent in my area (southeast US) is armadillos, but they usually skedaddle when you approach them.
>>4992772Aren't they full of blood? They can start decomposing and building up gas inside the resin
>>4992777Nah you're good. It's an interesting project and I hope you continue.
Should have done a formaldehyde soak before ORBing them
Here's another pic of the same guy. I thought I was watching him wake up since it looked like he was grooming himself. 30 seconds later he was greedily sucking his own penis. Could be quite a few anons' spirit animal.
>>4992793Sadly (?) it's illegal, they're a protected species. Keeping one can get you up to 3 years in jail and a 150000โฌ fine (171000$).
>>4992944They're more common that you would expect, but people rarely notice them because they're nocturnal.
When you approach, they'll either run away or nervously prepare to ball up. After a while some warm up, and others barely get used to it. Most don't mind too much.
>>4992960They are engorged, indeed, but they're also frozen. I'm curious to see what will happen.
>>4992980Bless you.
>>4992984It looks like random citizens aren't allowed to buy formaldehyde, over here.
This thread just reminded me how disgusting ticks are
Cool hedgehogs though
I just read this about hedgehogs:
>As with many animals, it is not unusual for an adult male hedgehog to kill newborn males.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hedgehog
Brutal
Here are the ticks I harvested over the past couple of days.
>>4993185I'm skeptical about this claim. Hedgehogs are solitary animals, only the mother lives with the newborns, and those newborns don't come out of the nest until they're old enough to have spikes.
Nonetheless, it's true that the mother sometimes eats her babies. In most case, it's because she was disturbed, or they were handled by someone.
>>4993147How the fuck would they prove you are keeping and not just rehabbing him? I say keep him as hes too old to do well in the wild and if the wildlife folks show up just say you have recently nursed him back to health and will release him soon.
Question : if you systematically clear the ticks from the hedgehogs, can you cause the local tick population to noticeably decline or is it hopeless?
Also, does anything actually hunt or kill ticks in the wild?
>>4993721>does anything actually hunt or kill ticks in the wild? Some birds do
>>4993721I once saw a herd of sheep laying in the sun and two magpies were climbig all over them, it looked like they were eating parasites off them so propably ticks too. but that's a very special case and I don't see how ticks can be eaten otherwise once they are attached to an animal
>>4992356>Using multiple layers looks like a good option, if I can get it to work without having multiple strata.I have never worked with reisin or ticks, but what about making a tiny sphere, suspending it in the middle of medium sphere, and then finally suspending that in a large sphere?
>>4992356Preserve the ticks in formaldehyde before you do the resin and use a cold curing one to prevent cooking
use a weak adhesive ie natural gum to layer the ticks along the inside of a spherical mould
Are you using a deep pour resin? Not all resin likes a depth more than a 2-3 cm. The excessive bubbles might be from moisture, resin doesn't get on well with anything wet outside of paints and inks. Anything oily or watery will mess with it. Try letting the resin sit and thicken then add a bit, then some ticks, then a bit more, etc etc.
Hey OP, if you're also in the UK I run a business where I make and sell custom resin figures and moulds. I'd be more than happy to help out with making the next orb or just ship you the stuff to do it right if you're interested.
High percentage Ethel and isopropyl alcohol are actually better than formaldehyde for preserving insects, arachnids, etc. especially soft bodies ones like ticks

>>4994452nvm just finished reading the thread
i never knew hedgehogs had really bad tick problems like that
yuck!
I have to move out for more than a month, last week. Shall I try another (smaller) orb before leaving, using the thickening layers technique? I guess I'll replenish my stocks over this summer.
>>4993721>if you systematically clear the ticks from the hedgehogs, can you cause the local tick population to noticeably decline or is it hopeless? There is definitely a slight decline, but my solitary work is essentially a sisyphean task.
>Also, does anything actually hunt or kill ticks in the wild?I've heard that chickens and possums eat ticks.
>>4993959That would be a idea, but it would require several more molds, and the ticks themselves wouldn't be quite spread out on the final orb.

>>4995634we love you tick-anon
I was getting ready for a new try, but I'm hesitating between using a single big pitcher for the resin mix, or several plastic cups (one per "layer"). I've read that it's better to use a single mix, but...
I'm also confused between pot life (~1h30) and working time (~15m).
On the bottle, it's written that there would be a 1mm film after 6 hours. As I posted on the previous attempt, it was already pretty much sealed after 30 minutes, last time.
>>4996045Y-you too.
Here we go again!
This time it's filled to ~1/3rd of the smaller orb (roughly 180g of resin), for a first layer.
The resin hasn't started heating up yet, I'll check back every 10 minutes or so.
forgive my intrustion young man but
what the fuck are we attempting to achieve here ?
Just when I thought ticks couldn't get any more gross: most of the white ones are now getting pink/red because the heat is getting up faster now (but nowhere near as far as the first orb).
>>4996111Long story short: I take care of the wild hedgehogs living in my garden, and I ended up pulling hundreds (more likely thousands) of ticks from them. So I decided to try casting them into a resin orb (I have no idea how to do this), and anons were quite supportive of the idea. Here's the original thread: https://desuarchive.org/an/thread/4196222/#4213765
>>4996116ty man, cool project. Hedgehegs are such cute lil fellas. You doing em good.
I kind of wanna suggest you switch from orb to disc shape, itll be much easier for you to control their disposition etc
Here's one which I found "wounded" yesterday. Turns out one of her spike came out wrong and ended up completely piercing her ear. It was no trouble clipping and removing it.
>>4996124Thanks, anon.
A disc would be easier indeed, but nowhere near as fancy as a cursed orb. I also don't own a disc-shaped mold.
>>4991849>what am I supposed to do with them? You can feed them to birds when they are fresh, I don't know if birds will eat them if they are long dead.
Kill or immobilize them, put them on a plate in your garden and birds will eat them.
>>4996130I see. Good luck with the orbing then. The tick orb. The Torb.
This second orb is very confusing!
The resin isn't reacting at all like it did on the first time. The surface was hard as a cannon ball after 30 minutes and the ticks were frying, but this time it's been more than two hours, the ticks aren't frying at all (it's nowhere near as hot... yet?) and the first few milimetres of the surface of the first are still liquid. But I ran into another problem, since this orb taking way longer: it's past 1 AM and I need to sleep.
I just added a second layer, and it's coming out pretty good so far, although I've been pouring ticks sparingly on this orb, out of caution.
It's hard to see on this pic, but it's looking MUCH better. Fingers crossed that I don't wake up to a bubbly, floating mess of a failure.
>>4996134>You can feed them to birds when they are freshHedgehogs are nocturnals, I would still need to store them somehow.
Any idea on how to immobilize them?
>>4996156>>4996116It's finally coming together
>>4991326 (OP)Is this the tic orb? I've been waiting. I hope you remembered what I told you about spraying them in clear coat
>>4991858Fuck you didn't clear coat them did you
Just added a new, third layer. After this I'll only add one or two more.
I was pretty nervous last night, after checking the orb one last time, it was fuming heavily (and boy does it stink) and bubbling around the ticks. But it nowhere near as bad as them deep frying last the first time. In the morning it turned out fine. The ticks in the previous layers are just a little bubbly, but we should still see them.
>>4996163>>4996168I remembered your post and I considered clear coating them, but I don't really see how I could thoroughly clear coat several hundreds of ticks, other than doing it one by one with a brush or dipping them with tweezers. Not sure if simply spraying them would be enough. Not being familiar with clear coating, I was also perplexed on a good way to let it dry.
>>4996324The easiest way would be to get some clear coat in a spray can, set all of the ticks out on a big sheet of paper, spray them, let them dry, then flip them all and spray them again to get full coverage. Tedious, but the easiest way I can think to do it.
>>4996324They make a spray can. Just spray them.
Hopefully when you're done OP you can get a picture of one of the hedgehogs contemplating your orb.
Good news, bad news!
-Good news: it turned out way better than the first one. The ticks didn't cook at all, they decently spread out. The layers don't seem too visible yet, resin wise, but you can tell because it makes tick lines.
-Bad news: the curing time is fucked up. I waited 30h before removing the mold, and it turns out the middle layers somehow didn't fully cure, so it was a bit runny on the edges, as you can tell, which makes it blurry. I'll wait for it to fully cure (the bottle said 24h), and try sanding it to have a clear orb. Since I never sanded an orb, I hope I won't be creating multiple flat spots.
Hopefully everything will turn out as the bottom part.
I think I might be cursed, too. Last evening I was reading in bed when I felt something on my leg. I pulled the cover and discovered a tick crawling up. Lucky it didn't bite. No idea how it managed to get here. Fuck them.
>>4997288>>4997291It looks just as horrifying as I imagined, great job OP.

>>4997297>>4997301Thanks! Hopefully it will be clearer when fully cured and sanded.
I won't lie the whole thing is kinda disgusting to me but I still admire your passion and sticktoitiveness
>>4997318It might require some buffing compound or wax otherwise the sanding would leave it cloudy. Just a caution, never done this but I don't see sanding grit size abrasions as making anything more clear on its own without some kind filler or a micro abrasive to actually make the surface smooth enough to have light not be bouncing every which way or whatever physics is going on there.

>middle didn't fully cureI'd double the length of the listed cure time.
It's been over two days and the middle is NOT curing. It's extremely slowly dripping, making this orb look absolutely cursed.
>>4997325It seems counterintuitive at first, but you're supposed to sand up to extremely fine grit and finish it off with some kind of polish. Well, according to Youtube videos.

>>4999219I'm not ready for Tickushima or Chernotick.
>>4998312>>4998316That came out markedly better than the last one, you should be churning out marketable torbs in no time.
>Since I have to leave tomorrow, I won't be able to make new orbs until late july.Where are you going hedgeanon?
>Shall I make a thread then? If it works out, as I said before I'd like to send the orb as a prize for (you) guys, since you were enthusiastic about that weird project. Any idea how to make up some kind of lottery here?If you don't make a new thread we will hunt you down and force you to de-tick various animals at knifepoint. Even if there's no new spherical updates, we enjoy seeing your local hedgies as much as you enjoy cleaning them.
>>4999286Haha allright, I'll make a new one then.
>Where are you going hedgeanon?I'm spending a month and a half in southern France. My family has a second home there. Pic related, went to the beach this morning, we're <1km away from the sea.
>>4999522We're also lucky enough to have a very nice swimming pool in the condominium. It's 80% old people living here all year round so I can usually swim all alone. Vacationers only crowd this place from middle of July to late August.
>>4998316This is equal parts awesome and disgusting, I hope you are proud.
Good work.
>>4999524have you checked if there are usable ticks in that pool
I am requesting OP buy mold making supplies, cast a lollipop mold, eat the lollipop, then cast a tick lollipop with the stick. Make sure once it cures to brush on an extra layer of resin so it is "safe" to lick.
A tick coaster is also a good idea. Cast it half way so the ticks float. Then once cured do the 2nd layer so the ticks are in the middle.
>>4999678>cast a tick lollipop with the stick. Make sure once it cures to brush on an extra layer of resin so it is "safe" to lickPlease stop posting your disgusting fetish.
>>5000123It's not a fetish I'm just saying while OP makes abominations, the lollipop and coaster are good additions.
>>5000123you aint seen fetish material yet son
>NICE TONGUE
>TICK COASTER
okay that's a fun and gross idea
I'd join the lottery. How far are you willing to ship it?
>>4992777>since 2021Brother, you are like a tick that gives him life. He's only known you for 4 years. That's it, he's done for as a wild animal, all he knows is the life of a tamed beast. If you fear the law, go get him euthanized. It'd be a lower betrayal of trust than dumping him in the woods to fend for himself while he thinks you're going to show up. Never forget what happened to Keiko. If a formerly captive orca couldn't handle living without humans, what makes you think a lil hedgehog is going to handle abandonment?
>>5001102Once again, my sentence was poorly worded: he didn't live with me or anything since 2021. By "taking care", I meant providing food, water, unrequested chin rubs, parasite removal, emergency fattening food in mid autumn, and providing a safe backyard for hedgehogs to thrive. Even though I've spent hundreds of hours with this one over the years, he's always been living in the wild.
>>5001080Honestly, I have no idea about the cost; I should look it up before I have to send it to the other side of the world.
Where do you live?
>>5001146I live in Calcutta Sir
>>4997288Get a spray can of clear coat for the love of God
>>4998316Yes. Make a thread.
>>5001119He's been living off of welfare.
>>5001248Imagine you got taken off of NEETbucks because you were technically doing too well for yourself. How would that make you feel? Let the hedgie LARP as wild without putting in the hard work.
>>5001312>Imagine you got taken off of NEETbucks because you were technically doing too well for yourself. That's how it should work.
>>5001164Probably expensive but possible if not too much, provided you guys actually have postal addresses.
>>4996134Why wouldn't hedgehogs eat them?
>>5001633They simply don't.
Best /an/ thread in a while, tick Anon and his wonderful tick orb
>>4992129Damn he looks ticked off
>>5001146I live in Louisiana
>>5001891No problem. As long as customs don't raise an eyebrow if they open it.
>>5001962What could go wrong? it's just a ball filled with ticks notorious for transmitting all sorts of diseases
>>5001973Let's add a cheeky sender name, too.
>>5001981>Lymes Disease Research Center>Global Tick Repopulation Program>Facility for Exotic Insect-transmitted Disease>McDonald's R&D Department
but what if nerds rope of ticks
>>5003372Good idea
>get a piece of red licorice>coat in resin, let it get tacky>roll in ticks, brush on resin, let harden>cast it in a mold
>>5003521Poor snek :(
He can't shake them off?
>>5003564Ticks bury their heads into the skin, you can't shake them off. Truly no one is safe from the ticks.
>>4998316Sanding and polishing would make it perfect, but that's a lot of tedious work
>>5003725Eat garlic. It repels ticks
>>5005502Garlic doesn't repel tick. I would know, I'm french.
>>5005511Honestly I'm concerned with how it's going to look like when I come back. I left it without much care on my workbench, and I don't want to ask someone to check if the tick orb doesn't bleed too much and spills ticks everywhere.
>>5006203i think it'll be fine unless the room gets heated to 40C
>>5006203It works suprisinglg well with my dogs unless this was a bad year for ticks round my neck of the woods.
>>5007278Haha, there will be a heat wave next week, 35C expected. I'll have to exorcise that room.
>>5007364experienced that yesterday, luckily got the heat down to tolerable levels
>>5003725Chickens eat ticks, mate. Ticks don't stand a chance against chickens.
Based. ticks gave a loved one lyme, total tick death
>>4991782>>4991820Oh no, don't let the tilefucker see this thread.
>>4994453All wild animals have really bad tick problems. Thereโs a reason you should avoid touching them
