>be me
>buy rural land
>install 120sqft cabin and a pickup truck
>suddenly rats fucking everything up
I feel bad because I just bought and installed poison dispensers everywhere, but what can I do to solve this in other ways so I can later remove the poisons?
I thought about removing all the brush within 300ft of the house but it will cost a ton of money renting equipment to mulch it

Get exclusion mesh and plug up everything with it. When rats try to eat through it the mesh cuts their mouths up so they learn to avoid it.

I feel bad and I'm also very concerned about it somehow killing a fox if one trys to get into it. If that happens I'm going to rope myself.
But I have no other idea, the rats are making nests inside my vehicles and doing damage so I need to remove them or deter them somehow

Buy a few barn cats. Feed them just enough so they don't wander too far. Voila. The smell of cat piss and natural predation is a bigger ward against mice and rats than traps can.

No you nigger, a cat will kill EVERY bird and rabbit within 10km.
Fucking 4 legged genocide, all cats should be shot on sight if spotted outside of cities.

This is standard shit, you have to do it. Not just for rats but for fire and ticks as well.

Barn cats do nothing. This has been scientifically proven ten times over. They do not reduce the population, slow population growth, or even reduce equilibrium because rodents always overpopulate each generation and cats just kill juveniles and parasitism victims that would have died regardless. All you're doing is neglecting/abusing some cats and spreading toxoplasmosis on your land.

Correct. Birds and native mammals breed much slower than pest rodents and are not as good at holing up to hide from cats. They are much more vulnerable to feline predation, unlike pest rodents, which are fully adapted to living in perfect harmony with huge numbers of cats.

You gotta remove the brush, rolling log trap, scatter the dead rats pretty far and wide to try to bring some of their natural predators to the area (if it's not bear country). Set up that trap every night with like a full size garbage can. You'll probably get more than a 100. Then gradually less until it's about 3 or 4 every night. It is insane how fast they multiply and how drawn they are from large distances to anything resembling the safety of human dwellings.

Removing the brush and policing up trash are the two biggest things, but you will also need to persistently trap like >>4997415 said.

Disposal Protip: If you get them in a bucket, put a heavier grate on top and fill with water. I prefer capture cages because I only want to dispose certain animals. You can just dunk the thing in the tank after.

But very important, check your local laws. For example in Mass it's illegal to kill a nuisance animal outdoors that naturally lives outdoors (except rats). If I catch a mole, I have to drive a mile away and release it (meanwhile some other fag is driving a mile towards me and releasing his mole lol)

Some places actually do use cadaver dogs on a daily basis, Massachusetts isn't a safe place to live.

99% of the time it's a neighbor snitching. Even though I don't have to worry sbout that, I'm just defending my lawn and gardens. So I don't want to risk a heavy fine.

Now if an invasive chipmunk should happen to get caught in my perfectly legal rat snap trap? Shit happens.
