I've been thinking about this.
Some animals like tigers have a very negligible impact on the environment, while providing a great threat to nearby human settlements and their livestock.
What would we truly lose if we killed all tigers? Sure, they're nice to look at, but being nice to look at is not worth a human life, or the hundreds of thousands of lives claimed by tigers over the last 200 years.

We can make arguments that they could be conserved, but what about just killing them in the wild?

Indians already killed vultures into extinction, while leaving heaps of garbage and corpses out in the open, which caused a huge explosion in the feral dog and cat population and a massive rabies epidemic. Tigers alter wild canid territory and keep them away from human settlements (they are, after all, obligate hinduvores and defend their hunting grounds with pride) which prevents the rabies epidemic from spreading any further.

If anything, we need more tigers. Way more tigers. At least one tiger for every ten indians.

The expectations held to humans are higher. Animals are dumb, even the closest runner ups to humans don't really come close. They act for their basic needs by following their nature. Humans on the other hand are capable of higher level thinking. They act on more complicated concepts like law and order, the social contract, principles.
