What's your experience with obtaining pets through Craigslist? I've only ever adopted cats, a hedgehog and a turtle from it.

I adopted my two cats from craigslist. The previous owner wanted to make sure that they stayed together which is why he put them up on craigslist instead of sending them to a shelter. He gave me a bunch of things that they liked. It was a positive experience.

I got all my cats from craigslist too. They did all have fleas but a flea bath solved that and they haven't had any health issues for being free cats.

A lot of times itโ€™s just people moving into apartments, have multiple dogs that fight or destroy the house, kid gets an allergy, etc. and youโ€™re saving them from time in the shelter.

nokill shelters transfer non-pitbull breeds to county shetlers because they believe they need less help, which leads to every good dog having 1 week to live when it goes into the shelter system while a bunch of worthless fucking shitbulls live to maul another toddler.

A little over 2 grand. She's 3 now and in perfect health. Easily the most socialable and well adjusted dog I've ever had.

Iโ€™m looking to get a cat from Craigslist. I wanted an Abyssinian but I want an adult cat, not trying to support some dirtbag breeder

This girl is free, looks cute. Says sheโ€™s affectionate, parasite free, vaccinated and sterilised. Says teenager so I assume 1-2 years old

Biggest fear is sheโ€™ll piss all over, or scratch furniture

Cats learn pretty quickly and generally prefer their litter box. You'll just have to redirect her onto a scratching post if she tries to mess up your couch.

craigslist is frowned upon these days by many, but the reality is that mostof the people using it simply don't have facebook, so it's essentially the main alternative to making local listings quickly. there are just as many shady/trashy people on facebook making listings.

cats only piss outside of a litter box if they have mental/physical problems or they are an unneutered male marking territory. cats prefer to cover their mess instinctively so kittens automatically go to a litter box and use it, you don't even have to train them. as for scratching furniture, it's all down to if the previous owner allowed them to do it or not. it's hard to break a habit in a cat. I wouldn't get so hung up on cat breeds, there are endless cats in need of homes and they all behave like a cat regardless of breed. it's not as important like with dogs.

Cat breed matters. Feral parentage mutt cats are more prone to aggression, fear of humans, distrust of humans, escaping, and getting eaten. A ragdoll is going to be a sweetie every time.
