Yes, they should be better prepared to defend themselves against me. The last one I trapped turned into a pool of maggots and now they are flies. And I trap the flies too! Then dump them in my compost pile and turn them into plant food. Then the plants make seeds, turkeys eat the seeds, turkeys turn the seeds into eggs and raccoons eat the eggs, get caught in my trap and the whole beautiful cycle of life repeats itself. It's all self sustaining.
