How Do You Deal With Fleas?
My folks finally decided to give our third cat who largely lived in the basement away to a family who live by a farm so that she can be happy finally. I really miss her still but she apparently left behind fleas and a week later, we are still dealing with them. Just used flea floggers all over down in the basement. Will this be effective enough? Anyone know how to kill off the fleas completely? They seem to be largely in the basement.

(Picture isn't mine, I'm just using it as a reference for thread)

call a pesticider, needs fumigation. the bug bombs you can buy yourself don't work.

where / how I grew up in a mentally ill single mom household:
> flea infestation that you wouldn't believe.
> a nightly ritual was sweeping flea 'dirt' (aka flea feces) out of our beds.
> when washing clothes in the washing machine the water would turn blood red from all of the solid dried flea feces liquefying.
> picking fleas off of cats was a form therapy where thru trial n error I found gasoline in a small cup worked best at killing them the quickest. I would end up with 100s of dead fleas in a single picking session off of one cat. I was in touch with my inner chimpanzee I suppose.

more where / how I grew up in a mentally ill single mom household
> cat vomit, shit, piss, hair and every other type of filth was literally everywhere.
> cats were all neutered / spayed but due to their sheer numbers they still 'marked' (pissed) on everything; including the female cats.
> finding fresh pools of cat piss on the kitchen counter tops, stove, and eating tables was a regular lovely surprise.
> several cats even pissed on electrical outlets that blew up and mom decided she wanted to try to invent a device that would deter cats from pissing by having said device have an alarm system activated when it got pissed on by cats; that never got invented. How only the garage caught fire and burned down was really lucky.

Hearty kek. Depressing background story. Stay safe, bro.

Status update; seems like things are under control now, though the basement seems still flea ridden. Both cats have been treated now, at least.

Any further suggestions?

I have 8 pages (not complete yet) of other things describing the hell I grew up it thanks to feminism. Would it be worth trying to publish as a short story or would it be too depressing?

Would regularly get violently woken up in the middle of night to LOUD horrific cat fights. The ones under the house were the worst (because we couldn't break them up), where 2, sometime 3, or even 4 cats would be fighting-to-the-death in balls rolling around smashing into the cedar posts repeatedly, so hard it would literally shake the bed and walls.

Okay that made me laugh. Funnily enough though, my sister has been making Zyklon B jokes since we're killing fleas, gassing them to death and all.

feed your animals high quality raw human-grade meats / organs.

I used the paste you feed the cats that gives their blood something that inables chitin building and therefore made fleas unable to have offspring.

What was the comment?
Anonymous No.5014301 [Report]
Spread boric acid around any carpeting or furniture. The boric acid dehydrates the eggs and kill them off. Harmless to humans and pets unless you literally start eating it. Just spread it around and don't vacuum for about 2 weeks while it does all the work. Should be fine after that.
Do not use diatomaceous earth, it is legitimately damaging to your lungs and is impossible to clean up.

this was a big fat one I felt jump onto my leg a few years back, I brushed it off not knowing what it was and it jumped right back to the same spot so I grabbed it.

Everyone’s got trauma, still gotta know how to write to make it worth reading. Your desire to be heard over a unique situation isn’t the same thing as having something to say that people will pay money to hear.

Single mothers have been a thing since the invention of warfare and men that can run faster than women

Africa clearly doesn't need feminism to have single mothers for example

From what you wrote it really seems like yours would've been a mentally ill single mom regardless of feminism
