You shouldn't use professional flashes on your dog more than once a week maybe. It bothers them and hurts their vision. I can already see the cataract haze.

To add context to this for anyone that wants a laugh, I was posting pictures on /p/ in the pet photos thread of my progression through learning how to do studio lighting with my dog. Over 2 or 3 days I posted maybe 6-8 pictures from my other 2 digital cameras. Nothing except nice on topic discussion.
Then today I post a new set of photos without mentioning the camera or anything. Only that I was happy with how they came out.
For some reason this triggered 100+ posts of absolute seethe about how terrible this camera specifically is, and how low levels of flash will blind my dog, and how incredibly stressed out he is. They're upset because my camera has a bigger sensor than theirs! It is so hilarious.

I apologize for their rent free behavior.
I will not indulge in TOO much of this hilarity. Promise.

You can see the difference between them on a phone screen if you look carefully.

The full res pictures on a 4k monitor are vastly different and the hy6 has the best colors, sharpness, and depth rendering than any of them. I also like the look of it, actually using the camera, and a couple technical aspects that make it best for flash photography.
You can only post downscaled jpg on 4channel so the main difference is in colors and 3d POP, which are definitely noticeable.

All the words I mention are real things. 3d pop is kind of contested, but depth rendering is a real thing that some lenses/cameras do better than others. M43 cameras are classically terrible at depth rendering.

On my monitor, if I view at 100%, I see an image which if printed would be 45" wide. That's almost 4 feet.
If I view at 50%, which if printed would be 22.5" wide, I can just barely see the green and purple noise when I view at arm's length.

The sinar photo looks like it could be on a magzine. It definitely has a "special quality" to it.

Only took 8 pictures. I tested out an additional bounce card bottom right to more evenly light the side opposite my strobe. I think I'm getting closer to what I want.

The true reason is that I enjoy photography and I'm trying to accomplish something very difficult with it. Taking a perfect studio portrait of my dog with an 8x10 camera! Imagine having a beautiful near 3D 8x10 image of your sweet dog to cherish forever. It sounds amazing and a backlit sheet of slide film is about as good a viewing experience as you can possibly get!

Believe it or not there's actually some good discussion and helpful advice about my setup and I'm very happy to hear good constructive feedback. I give what I get and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. :D

My livestock guardian dog sends her regards to the one guy troll and everyone else.

Just spent a couple hours at the chicken ranch. We doubled our flock size recently and almost have our 1000 hen moveable chicken coop built. I built most of it. It's a pretty cool structure. Expecting around 3500-4000 eggs per week in a month when the new ones start laying.

Fed everyone, checked waterers, pet dogs(extremely important), prepared their fermented food, collected eggs, and fixed a couple things that were broken.

Depending on CONTEXT it can mean they are stressed, yes, BUT it can also show they are just focused on something or even looking to the side. All dog body language is context based. I think this dog I adopted from a family member might have rage syndrome. He randomly goes crazy and nothing will calm him down. His eye get super dilated and fixates on one person and barks at them non-stop sometimes trying to go in for a bite, but if someone else is there they can pick him up and it "resets" him or if you're lucky you can sometimes grab him and that does the trick too. It's weird because when he's not like this he's a total loverboy. Is this something I should make a vet appointment about? I'm not trying to hook a dog on drugs. He's a small dog and get's enough mental and physical stimulation so him doing this makes no sense.
