Not really, and to be honest there is not any other reason to have them cropped other than cosmetic. It's a procedure that does have an impact on hearing and can cause severe infections during and post op (not even considering blood loss during op. It doesn't help that the owners of cropped dogs are 7/10 times total retards who treat their dogs the same way boomers do so I just see it as a red a flag.

Cropping ears is fine if done right. Tail docking is bad and will always be bad, dogs need their tails to communicate and balance properly.

I'm not gonna deny that the dog looks better to me with the crop but I don't know how much of that is legitimate aesthetics or habituation.
That said, I love Dobermans. I don't get why they still have their reputation as dangerous, vicious dogs. They're just kind of retarded and sweet, similar to boxers. Were I to ever have one, I would not get it cropped.

Cutting them off and shaping them into something you think looks better is nothing short of mutilating the dog. It's not like they are doing this to benefit the dog, they do it simply because they like the way it looks. It also permanently exposes the ear canals to weather and foreign elements that otherwise would not be if the ears were intact. So again, it's animal abuse plain and simple.

I hear if you have a nose, you are more prone to having it broken than those without noses. Isn't that incredible?

Floppy ears are literally a deformity. But ear cropping is just making an already deformed ear even more deformed. The only correct move is to ban dogs with floppy ears.

Naturally occurring flop ears, profuse/bearded coats, and bobtail mutations aren't enough to cause a landrace dog to be cut off from the gene pool.
