I don't see what the problem is. If a large animal like a horse needs to be euthanised, not letting the meat go to waste sounds like a win win to me. They have this in Sweden too for a couple of parks, and it's actually the horse owners who have to pay the zoo for the service, NOT the zoo buying the meat from the horse owner. I believe the horse can be euthanised by a vet someplace else and then have its body transported to the zoo, OR the zoo performs the euthanisation process themselves. Supposedly it's actually cheaper than the usual euthanisation + cremation service provided by vet clinic.
