Look, I think animal abuse should be illegal like any sane person with empathy, but there are just uncomfortable realities in this world.
For example, I love chickens. I'm not a vegan though, and I've cut a chicken's head off before, plucked it, and fucking ate it.
I've never dealt with animal husbandry before--unless you count aforementioned chickens, which I don't--I just accept that there's a certain amount of uncomfortable weirdness that's inherent to our relationship with animals.
There's a real world, and there's an ideal world. Those two worlds aren't necessarily the same. Sometimes a shepherd needs goat cum, and it's his prerogative to get it. It's not my room to judge what's been a normal process for thousands of years.
