I saw this insect, moribund and face up, when I was a kid. My infantile mind did not correctly comprehend its shape, so for many years I thought it was some abomination with horns or perhaps giant chelicerae. I only encountered another one a few months before I turned 18, and then I was able to take a closer look. It was a time when many of my childhood fantasies were shattered, and it was no different for my monster. It's still pretty ugly, though.

Ive saved a ton of wasps over the years, the trick is to use a pool noodle. Once they calm down they're always chill
