""""Traditional"""" Chinese Medicine" isn't very traditional. Sure there was some trade in dragon bone and such, traditionally, but lots of the stuff that they import for this purpose wasn't traditionally available (like totoaba swim bladder) to the chinese witchdoctors. No, the communists made a decision in the 50s that encouraging quackery was cheaper than actually providing the medical care promised by Marxist Leninism that they were rebranding under Mao, and the Party has been inventing new rare traditional qi filled animals to grind up for cancer cures and dick pills ever since.

If you buy the Party line on the average intelligence of Chinese students, ask yourself why they have to cheat so hard to get degrees when they come to the West? Or why they get caught paying westerners to take entrance exams for them before they even come to the west to cheat their way to a degree?
Plenty of them are smart, but that's a numbers game, there's over a billion of them.
