What are some changes you guys made for a more eco-friendly life?
Here's the changes I've made to help the environment:
>stopped buying new clothes (and pretty much new anything except food and meds)
>cut back on plastic waste
>recycle the little plastic I do use
>pick up trash at parks
>reuse ziplock bags and packing materials
>basic stuff like preserving electricity and water
>take broken electronics to a special recycling center

My main problem is trying to cut back on plastic bottles but I consume a lot of soft drinks so it's kinda hard

What changes have you guys made to help our environment?
I'd love to hear if you guys have any recommendations if there's anything else I should add

Nothing really but I'd like to live a modest lifestyle that is aligned with nature. I just don't know where to live or what job to take to make it happen

Reduce, reuse, recycle.
Turns out you can do all three of these without having to lose out on much. Actually it arguably makes life nicer.
Reduce means less clutter, more money, less trash, less burden due to shit you have that you don't need.
Reuse means you can get stuff that has longevity in mind, save money by using stuff you already have and be creative doing so.
Recycle is just second nature to me, but it should be the last line of defense.

Also I don't travel as much anymore, which has lead me to find a lot more nice places nearby and appreciate the nature here more.

Consider making your own. I make my own energy drinks and mate soda for example.
>pick up trash at parks
Very based. I go fishing and always have a roll of trashbags with me. Everytime I'm fishing, I'll take whatever trash I can find at my spot with me, usually that's about half a bag of trash, sometimes more. In summer I'll jump in and go for a swim and get all the shit that's caught in treebranches and shit too.
>take broken electronics to a special recycling center
Learning to fix stuff is enjoyable, economical and socially valued. A lot of electronics are easy to fix, as is doing basic tailoring on your own clothes.
Using a cast iron pan or a stainless steel pan instead of a nonstick pan that goes bad every year or so from warpage and broken coating is both cheaper in the long run, more enjoyable and feels nicer.
Also, I keep worms. They eat my paper waste, some of my kitchen scraps and reward me with free premium fertilizer. They don't smell, need feeding every 2 months or so, and are generally chill pets. Even as an apartment dweller they are easy to keep, I have some in my bedroom.

Ignore the doomers, they want to convince themselves that nothing matters so they have a carte blanche to never be better. Doing the right thing is reward in itself.

Can you link some recipes you use?

>Learning to fix stuff is enjoyable,
The electronics I take in are long gone and aren't worth fixing

>>burn plastic waste
Isn't the ash and fumes harmful?

Thanks to all the replies

I'll do you one better, here's a link to me first trying the recipes out. Barely changed since.

If you don't have 4chanx, then here's a plain link:

That being said, the energy drink version requires quite a few chemicals/aroma compounds.
While I'm unsure if the energy drink is worth it for everyone (just in terms of ingredients you have to get, the end result is good), the mate soda is a no-brainer if you like mate. Then again, mate-soda is a bit of an acquired taste that not everyone likes too.

Lol. Nothing you do is going to have even the smallest impact.

Nuke China if you want to save the environment. Not even kidding. That's like the most basic step we'd have to take to even start fixing this shit. That's how far gone we are. It's way past desperate measures.
