It's funny to me, years ago I felt that red fox was the only fox. Go red or go home. Nowadays, silver fogs(still a morph) are classy and platinums are okay too. Swifts and kits and tibetan foxes are cool.

A bunch of people here have said that raccoon dogs are the closest things to foxes, I didn't know the knowledge was so obscure. And the name racoon dog is honestly fine, I don't know why it confuses people so much. They're canids that superficially look like racoons, it's not that hard to understand.
