Every communist regime to date has rounded up and killed peoples dogs because they are an excuse not to serve the dictator, often allow people to liberate themselves from society and survive in the wild until they can secure a permanent escape from the regime, and worst of all, alert people to the secret police should they come.
Or as the commies have lied about it, pets are "bourgeosie excess" and "the slavery of sentient beings in opposition to basic liberal principles", "pets are causing climate change", and of course "essentially an ongoing holocaust, for so long as man owns dogs and eats meat he will oppress BIPOCs and despise his jewish brothers".
Tomorrow's authoritarians will tell you "kids instead of dogs". Never forget we always had both, but there's something dogs do that they don't like. They keep THEM away from YOUR kids.
There's also a curiously concerted effort to push pitbulls on everyone while claiming they are just like any other large dog! With billions of dollars behind it! HMM, i wonder what the inevitable end result of that might be if we don't fight back and just say "no, pitbulls are nothing like other dogs"
Authoritarians always go after certain things (guns, dogs, land, gardening, hunting, livestock rearing, meat processing) because they must control these to control society. Always. Don't let them.
