it took me 2 months to stop instinctively dodging litter that wasn't there. tiptoeing through a section of the basement.
sometimes i check behind doors in dark rooms in case there's a hairball there and i don't feel sad over it, i get this feeling like "what the fuck was i on?" like i'm an ex druggie getting used to cleaning the house and having a job
but when my dog died it was just pure emptiness. i usually don't even miss people unless it's been 6 months to a year.
