I took care of people. I did my best to help and love and care. Mostly I failed, but I did ensure at least a few people reached better and safer stages of life.
I am functionally disabled, but because I passed college, I was deemed "fit for work" even though I am the clumsiest and most inattentive motherfucker you've ever met. If you hired me, you would 100% regret it, because cleaning up after me REQUIRES a second hire.
But if I got proper care and support, I would be one of those geniuses re-inventing society. But because that requires care I can't afford even with a job, guess what? I am usesless, and broken. And the world tumbles ever onward towards ever-increasing levels of shittiness.
Do yourself, and this nation, AND this planet, a favor: stop working. Attitudes like yours are way hard work is nothing more than a fast track to a short life and a broken back. Actually have a real personality, and maybe you'll have real friends.
But I promise you, you'll NEVER find those through work. EVERYONE will betray you, and it 100% is due to unending piles of stress caused by overwork. You will simply be another burden no one has time for. And you will find, after you have worked hard enough to never need to work again, that all there will be for you is nothing more than emptiness and loneliness.
All the time and money in the world, useless because you'll have nothing and no one to spend it on. All because you spent all of your time working, and no time actually being a person.
