You didn't watch it when it first came out. You have 20 years of new media (that were almost all influenced by the sopranos) to compare it to. It was revolutionary in the time it was being made.

you need to get educated better. there's a reason this show was chosen as the best show of the past century by the tv writer's guild. it is very deep and has many layers to understand and enjoy it. you may be too young to understand some it. as someone already pointed out, now the show is over 20 years old and some of the themes are not topical now but the deeper meaning of themes of the show will nor fade with time.
