It depends. Games with farming tend to be ruined by farming bots. Older MMOs that are just like playgrounds 20 years after release are enhanced by having the ability to drag bots with you. Games like DDO struck it just right by letting you pay to get AI companions.

More games need companions like DDO did.

Twitter still. The alternatives still don't rank on the top 500 trafficked websites which mean you are more likely to meet someone who shops using OfficeMax's website in 2025 than who has one of the alternatives. Bot traffic doesn't mean people left, it means bots increased.

The uppercase i Internet is the perfect tool to manipulate people.
You're always being lied to.
Your thoughts and opinions aren't your own.
You've been neurolinguistically programmed.
It sounds ridiculous, but the government has been caught multiple times performing psyops online. The US government has spent millions of dollars over the years just to post HERE.
Treat every computer as though it's public, assume everyone is a federal agent or a federal bot, assume everything is untrue.

He did something right. We had a corporate Twitter for years and it was a fucking dump, random "people" would reply completely unrelated shit, there was a pattern of bots with LinkedIn profile pics posting links. It was a total waste of time, and it was so bad we opened a TikTok account and planned to move everything there. Musk bought Twitter and whatever he did actually worked and we could post product and outreach stuff essentially noise free.

Generally for most online games... no.

Only for mmorpg where you can trade resource and shit... that's when you see bot miners. Like Warcraft or Runescape. Poor countries mine gold and other shit to resell to western players because it cheaper than working a real job over there.

I fell for the bots tactic myself, I played for a week thinking I was just very good at the game until I decided to drop some bucks on the battle pass.
The moment I did I gained enough levels to be pushed out of the bots zone right into matchmaking against real players and I started losing every single match. The game wasn't any different than any other shit based matchmaking game after that

Why do people just assume Captcha is to prevent bots? "Prove you're not a robot" doesn't mean they keep out bots, it just means you're proving you're not a bot. You can set up a mouse macro to click the box and it'll still work. You can use AI to click the pictures.
What Captcha does is track your mouse movements when you mouse over it. Real people can't make perfectly straight lines.
Captcha is just analytics.

You could look at something like Undertale/Toby Fox and he ran something on a personal website and it only drew a cap of 200k "human" interactions but on his own site he hit at a floor double that.

Alright for the third time over let me try to phrase it out as Coherently as I can
Toby Fox has his own website and a form on it.
He posts a link to that form on twitter
The form is open for 24 hours.
A month later, the form from his website has received 400k responses the day it was receiving submissions.
On twitter (a month later). The announcement has roughly 200k likes as its higher user engagement metric (Basically an I A human being saw this button since liking is way less visible than something direct like a retweet)
Now I don't know about you, or me, but I think most of us have a pretty general idea of Undertalefags.
They're definitely telling more than one nigga about this, so a month later and only 200k people saying "I saw this" is a really fucking strange metric.
And sure you might think
>Hmm well aren't those Underniggas trans leftists???
They aren't but for this example lets pretend this is the case, and we'll look over at Twitter Too (Bluesky)
And WOW how weird it only has ~32k likes.
Now, let me ask you something.
How the fuck do any of these metrics make remotely any sense.
Anonymous No.938364555 >>938364840

Oh I get it now, like even on his own website - which SHOULD be much smaller than Twitter's - he's getting way more actual engagement
Yeah it's pretty fucked up, the numbers even in a vacuum are completely unreliable, but the more context you piece together the more you realize that even the "biggest" platforms are turning into ghost towns, to the point that running your own site might actually be way better even in the short term

What's really bizarre is that some how, some where, THAT much traffic made it's way to the website in that 24 hour period in spite of how the internet is these days.
Let me ask you, when specifically was the last time your friend actually sent you like, an email, or like a link to something that wasn't something you've seen on the home page of the like, 4 websites "people use online"?
It's rare.
