Seems to me like you have a plausible solution by focusing on the freedom of AD from SD and navigating the situation in terms of lower impact than the usual mental quagmire of hyperfocussed individuals who dwell on things long term. If you are not prone to hypervigilance because your AD limits your focus, then you have a strong potential for overcoming the stress levels inherent in the SD, compared to those who think the same thoughts for years on end.

If this is not how it is for you, you may be misdiagnosing.

But I know sweet FA about any of this, just shooting the breeze.

There are two ways I know of to repair your life if you are correct.

1. Weather the storm until the darkness is where you live most comfortably. Your brain patterns will eventually be stable and become normalised according to your emotional state, as imposed by the nervous system when it requires your neurological energetic frequency in harmony with standardised regular function.

2. Establish a routine of mental repetition of counters to neurological impairment patterns. You do not require focus for this; you can just get the details written down and have Alexa remind you to repeat the doctrine daily or twice daily until you know it off by heart.

As I said, I do not know about this stuff; I have only had ptsd in terms of excessive moments of logical/emotional imbalance. I never let it stick; I always just dropped it and moved on.
As to adhd, I only know this is part of my life because I have always only had limited focus until recently; if I had not become different, I would not even know I was ever that way before.

We adapt to become what we are driven to become, and by what we are built of, we do not dwell on the difference from others, or we are unnatural and not of the order of life that survives amidst change and environmental imposition from birth. To be aware that you are different is part of the mind killer. Look for reasons as to why you are normal more than why you are not to establish a clarity that transcends the victim mentality, which explodes or implodes.

Seek to know how well you are, to know what being well is, and to cultivate wellness.
Gravity is an illusion if you adapt to defy it, in mental terms.

I guess I have said my bit.

At ease, soldier.
