He blew up during Mario Maker but didn't really network all that well and then at the same time he abandoned his old viewerbase entirely.

All of a sudden, he was suddenly disgusted by edgelord behavior and acted like he had never seen such a thing before
The issue is, once he abandoned his old sense of humor, he had no personality left. I suspect it's because his sense of humor hasn't actually changed all that much so he has nothing to work with anymore now that he has to feign outrage over anything even remotely edgy
He could have gracefully transitioned to a less edgy personality. Its fair to grow out of that stuff. But he didn't just do that. He pretends like he's disgusted by things that he was so so so guilty of for most of his career. He acts like edgelord content is beyond his comprehension. He literally cried on stream when he found out his white podcast co-host used the N-word in private to quote jokes kek.
The crazy thing is, all of this is coming from a fan who is more or less center left. If even I didn't stick around I cannot imagine how he kept anyone around at all. He comes across as a massively uneducated know it all nowadays and nothing more.
