i try to gen at higher res but i have two issues:
1. gen time gets way longer, so it looks much better since gen time is like 10 min instead of 2 i dont have much time to experiment or do many request
2. upscaling i think just kind of looks bad, and sometimes it accentuates the artifacts.

but, if there are some you really really love i might regen them in higher res :3

Those does not make sense to me, to be honest, in this context. So you'd like to upscale it 4× and do another pass? Because then it sounds like a "hires.fix" workflow.
I've always had better results by upscaling with an upscale model (instead of latent upscale), so if that's fine for you, you can check the built-in templates: Workflow menu > Browse Templates > search for "HiresFix ESRGAN Workflow"
That should give you a basic example on how an upscale (with model) would work with a second pass.

i use two regular ksamplers,
there are two methods
>first pass, decode, image upscale, encode, second pass
>first pass, latent upscale, second pass

image upscale is good for your clean upscales. latent upscale allows the image to change more, which could be good or bad

the trick is to adjust denoise or use a controlnet in between the samplers to avoid artifacts

i use the latent upscale with controlnet and a low denoise and i think it works well for the styles i normally use. i like the way it affects the lineart and makes it look more rough with the right prompts

It's a good start imo.
You have two options for the second KSampler as far as I can tell:
- if you want to do the "10 steps" for the seconds pass strictly, add a "KSampler (Advanced)" node, and that lets you set a "start_at_step", and "steps" (set "end_at_step" to a high number, so the steps will matter for when to stop). Set the start_at_step to the first sampler's step count, and the steps to 10 (based on your JSON)
- use a regular KSampler, but lower the denoise (eg. to somewhere around 0.3-0.4, but play around with it). You can have a higher step count here for more detail, I guess

I suggest using a different seed for the second sampler for more detail on the end product.

Additionally, the BREAK keyword is not implemented in Comfy, so it should have no effect - and your end result will probably slightly differ from the original tbh.

It is upscaled and interpolated. I have high vram, and usually gen at 832 or 1280 for a final gen, but even then my motion rarely comes out as well as you seem to achieve consistently.
