The best case scenario is you're allowing the problem to get worse or the same state it currently is except now your grandchildren have to deal with it despite the technological control that'll exist by then.
It solves the problem because the worst of the worst don't go into politics anymore when it's their life on the line and because nothing you dangle in front of them to corrupt them will hold as much weight as their own life.

For a while, there'll be corruption still. But by the 8th swinging politician, especially if one of them from is the highest political office, it'll be solidified as a real threat to them. Until it's normalised, corruption at scale will still exist.

Every single one of those countries has a more efficent system than us. We overpay, even when PPP/GDP is controlled for. And the reason we overpay is simply too many people under pay vis cash or nothing so they pass the costs on. In a single payer system, this goes away.
Again the reason they can charge cash less is because insurance covers their operating costs overall so they can afford some loss. And no, it's not overhead from the insurer.
Also collecting bargain gives you more price control and stability. Hard to budget to hire a new doctor if every payment is haggled. There's a reason almost every other nation on earth does this.
