If someone asked you what distinguishes an airplane from a car or an arctic desert from a sand desert, you would all be able to correctly describe the two terms and name their differences in a flash. But while you constantly throw around terms like communism, socialism, liberalism, blah, blah, blah, as soon as it comes to anything you think is shitty, you have no idea what these words actually mean.
I'm no fan of communism, and I don't think it would work, especially in our modern, complex, globalized economy. But at least I know what it's about. And I don't use the term as a substitute for “that sucks.”
