there's a fork called "bright nights" which keeps the content from the newest updates, while removing some of the most finicky simulation/realism elements
it's intended to make it more focused on the action/RPG elements than the simulation elements
for example, in bright nights, your inventory capacity is based only on item weight & volume, rather than the weight and volume/length capacity of each individual pocket
also, working vehicles & fuel are easier to find
