You imagine the horse would have more of an affinity for coke if it were a mule. moshimoshi

Unrelated, but maybe so, ya ever feel like our species' absolutely-certain demise is actually a beautiful thing and, like, gives more gravitas to this moment we find ourselves in?

no, not at all
it's mundane unnecessary suffering
"gravitas" doesn't matter for more than five minutes once the feeling wears off, and you actually find yourself in a nightmare world
you can try to fix it or just relax, but please don't behold the destruction of the world
i don't think that's gonna happen anyway, though

even across a wider perspective than the individual, a species ending isn't that amazing, in the same way that a supernova isn't amazing
of course a supernova is amazing to us, from the individual perspective, but they happen regularly

OUR species ending is certainly not that interesting from a broader perspective, and when you look at it from the individual perspective, it's just pointless suffering and horror which we should be in control of

tbs, prophets and profits (wielded by the unscrupulous and unaware) have wrought misery upon our species since the beginning, certainly since agriculture and sedentarism became a thing, onward and upward and such, and certainly no amount of metaphysical or physical "striving" will stymie the biology/physics of this mortal-coil, if ya feeling poetic. Perhaps interdimensional travel... but yeah, no.

Perhaps stars and planets, and such, are mundane in their myriadicity, but even the most basic organisms, let alone the complexity required for us to exist or the interplay of conditions/parameters for that to be possible, is (for all we can surmise) unique to this locality of space for a duration that is less than an eye-blink in a temporal-infinity... which is kinda amazing, a little bit at least.

That's not to say the unscrupulous and unaware are entirely bereft of civilizational merit... if more so in a tangential manner: which is to say, those of us who gaf contending with the vagaries of their flights-of-fancy. :/
