the whole point is that Jesus' teachings are a completely impossible otherworldly standard no human can live up to. Many Christians don't realise this but this is the crux of the belief system: you are held to an impossible standard against your self-interest, ego and living and surviving in the material world itself. The whole point of Christianity is actually that negation of your Earthly self and desires is the point, that suffering is good, that being totally selfless in and of itself for no reward is good and that nobody is ever going to be able to be like this - by design - so therefore clinging to Jesus and hoping you might be saved when the world ends and most of humanity is cast aside is all you can hope for and devote your life to.
Actual Christianity is an anti-world, anti-life, anti-human religion/philosophy by design and the whole purpose of it is that it is supposed to venerate suffering itself but basically all modern versions of Christianity don't understand this and have diverged away from it.
