Why does gnosticism feel like it describes our world so much more accurately than regular christianity?

Gnosticism actually has an answer for why bad things happen to good people, or why there's cancer, or malaria, or natural disasters. Instead when you ask that of Christians of the usual "its a test from god" or "its cuz free will dummy"

Gnosticism 'feels like it makes sense' because:
1 - It is right and people on the path to obtaining sacred knowledge, or gnosis, can intuit its truth, or
2 - It's the only major philosophical tradition that logically 'solves' the problem of theodicy without denying the existence of a divine, loving creator. It is therefore appealing to anyone who is (a) logical enough to require a solution to theodicy (b) sufficiently cynical to realise the world is evil (c) sufficiently romantic / platonic to realise the world is also divine.

There are things that gnosticism teaches, which "modern christians" have abandoned which are true. but the bulk of it is quite retarded, just like the bulk of "modern christianity" is retarded. This isnt a complete explanation but I think it points out some key things pretty well. gnosticism rests on "you need to figure out everything on your own" and modern christianity rests on "there is nothing for you to figure out". Both of those statements are correct and incorrect. you do need to figure out everything on your own, anyone who doesnt will be lead by the blind, but anything you can figure out on your own is gonna be junk.
