i spent the last 16 hours making a stylised tilt shift depth of field shader at the cost of my sanity and mental wellbeing

I think lens flare, DoF and motion blur are dumb. Especially in first person games. That's not how the human eye works.
>>23241640
Imagine impersonating the most hated bant poster. You have to be a special kind of retarded.

Lil bro I've had a job like my entire time here. Like 4 years ago I got a much better higher paying job.
>grow out of this boring place
I've been coming to 4chan for over 20 years. I may switch names, trips or boards but it's the same Normie. It's part of who I am.

Ftfy and yeah I was intentionally exaggerating. There's much more revolting and despised posters than me. The fact some people impersonate me is a foreign concept to me. Like I get it they want to ridicule and mock but it gives me the same vibes as "I was merely pretending to be retarded".

it's basically just a kuwahara filter masked with a point to plane distance function but i made a stupid half pixel offset mistake and i'm too tired to fix it right now
>>23241705
in theory you can use eye tracking to get correct dof but i've never tried it
motion blur can be useful if you're playing at a really low frame rate
but yeah i agree i turn all of these things off immediately

cool idea

i guess
might be tacky in a real game like those other things, but it would be fun seeing it work

Oh I'm sorry i didn't mean to be rude. I didn't know you're ESL. Things like that and the they're, their and there dilemma grind my ass. Your and you're too. I am compelled to correct it whenever they're misused.

Yeah but I don't want to assume just because you're not American or from the UK that you don't speak English. That's just stupid. English is like the most common language in the world. Bing bongs speak it ffs.
I'd rather let the other person inform me than assume and be rude.

Fair. They wanted to look real pretty while having polygon people. Remember when games had cutscenes rendered in a whole separate engine from the game just to look nice? I do. Command and Conquer was silly in that it just used real people. Red Alert was so kino.

i liked the way infamous did it
alot of dialogue happens during gameplay, and alot of cutscene type stuff happens in the same engine
sometimes the 3rd person camera would move towards a cutscene element & back
the ACTUAL cutscenes are short, with sequences of comic panels
i never really thought about it, but it made that game stand out from other PS3 games at the time
those cutscenes you talk about can really fuck up the immersion

My typing speed has become so fast that I've lost control of what comes out now when I want to type their/there/they're or your/you're. I think I typed "their" when really I typed "they're" or something
Anyone else?

the typing speed does lead to stream of consciousness type stuff, though
my posts are often disorganized, and i multipost
