I think Newton was based and the shills hated him because he was honing in on the algorithm. He correctly surmised that GME is the most bare-bones expression of the "algo" that controls the stock market that you can imagine. It is like the tide rolling out and seeing all of the sea life on the bottom of the sea flood. Normally there is more noise and the algo can hide a bit better. But not with GME. It has to be this low for a reason and Newton was great at pointing this out. He also didn't needlessly try to hype and was just documenting everything and saying it out in the open.
I think we know that DFV wants to trade GME and I think he seems to know something the rest of us do not. DFV doesn't come out and say what it is to protect himself. I wonder if Newton may want to be making a power-play when the time is right and also wants to protect himself too by not broadcasting his moves to his audience.
I think he genuinely loves making the videos and don't really care if he says he retired just because he felt like it. I think April 2024 they crushed the price so comically low for a swap and then we ripped once hedgies were in the clear. We are getting awful close to those absolute bottoms and an explosive move to the upside is almost assured. I don't recommend buying calls because there is no guarantees on this stock, but we're setting up for another one of those bounces that can make your whole year.

Newton figured out the hedgie absolute bottom which is cash per share x2. That was a pretty massive thing to discover and share. He also successfully predicted multiple bottoms months in advance and their counterpart explosive runs (babe Ruth graphic months in advance)

To answer your question, you can sell a contract at any time regardless of it being in the money. The reason buying leaps on newtons lows is valid is because once they force it low to roll their swaps they usually hold it there. It’s important to understand IV and how it applies, but the shorts also want low IV to roll their swaps. Buying at low IV is just as important as what strike you are buying, and different strikes react to IV differently due to different Vega and gamma. I would suggest playing around with an options calculator to understand better.

The orange line is an approximation based on the current rate GME is accumulating cash. The slope will increase if that rate increases and decrease if that rate decreases. You can't see it in the chart but because interest compounds that line is an exponential curve.

Buying heavily shorted stocks means that GME is crash proof so I have all of the protection from a market crash. My company has already turned around and is in great hands. I've already seen the stock run from $10 to $80 last year and I think it is set to run from $20 to $160+ at a moments notice.
You know, it takes $7 years for 7% ROI to double your money. GME can do an 8x instantaneously. An 8x would like 21+ years of compounding interest that can happen abruptly for no reason in the premarket. It's funny how 60-80% of all buy orders have to be routed through dark pools and the over 50% of all transactions are marked as short sales. That's kind of the issue here, is there is no actual price discovery based on buy/sell orders. Everyone here understands that the market makers are only able to provider liquidity for GME by short selling. When the price of GME spikes to $80 on no news for no reason, that is probably getting maybe just slightly closer to the TRUE market price.
Normally a liquid market will find a price that settles the most buys and the most sell orders without any help. Because everyone's own subjective valuation meets and people can buy and sell at their leisure.
The problem with naked shorting is that the actual price no longer has anything to do with subjective valuation. It now has to do with supply/demand. The only way to clear the synthetic longs is to entice sell orders using a higher price. But we all know the game. We don't have to sell for ANY price. MMTLP settled a trade for $24,000. Do you think MMTLP was at that time worth $24,000 per share or did the circumstance of supply/demand create the conditions where shares would sell for that price.
That's what all GME holders have. "Name your price" wildcards. I buy more every week.
