when did you realize that $1,000,000 is literally nothing? For me it was when I can't even afford a decent home in a decent area with that amount

>decent area
1 million is enough for any area other than the bay area of california or prime new york real estate. Fuck off with your strawman

I make $4000 a month in veteran gibs, dont pay property taxes and they gave me private health insurance as well so $1,000,000 would be roughly an extra $4k a month after taxes. $8000 a month combined would probably have me set for life.

When i realized 1 million does nothing to free me from wage slaving except shave a few years off my retirement age unless i move to a shithole. But with upcoming hyperinflation even that is a pipe dream

you're thinking like a poorfag. Money is not something you directly buy things with, it's something you use to generate more money and get loans

If you somehow obtained $1,000,000, you would invest it, a 5% return per year would yield $50,000 a year. Then take out a loan for a house and the investment return can pay for a mortgage of up to $4166/month, that's enough to afford any decent home

If your situation changes you just sell the house and now you get back the returns you paid into the mortgage + property appreciation + you still have the original million

Post your budgets. I'll wait.
$1 million is, very conservatively, 20-30k per year forever. Double that if you want to be a bit riskier. I don't understand how anyone is spending that much.

When did you realize that we live in a beast system. Our fiat dollars are meaningless. We are slaves who think our paper and our meme internet crypto coins are worth something. The masses are deceived. Sheep being led to the slaughter

I should have sold my body instead of telling that marine corps recruiter to fuck off.

I probably would have gotten killed in Iraq or Afghanistan though.

I realized when I found out that the 7 figs are something obtainable with memecoins like npc or by being very patient with btc, I don't even have a safe place to retire to when I'm old anymore; the whole world is ruined

if it's nothing then why'd you have to make this post? You don't see people posting that $5 is nothing. It must be that $1 million is actually something.

You could’ve retired on $1m twenty years ago and now it’ll get you a box in any major city and the surrounding areas.

There’s something deeply frightening about thinking of what actually used to be quite a substantial amount of money and now it’s not worth shit. Then you realize you’re not making enough no matter what, so any money you get you need to put it into assets. It actually freaks me the fuck out that I can save 40 percent of my income and that might not be enough. Crashes, layoffs, AI. That there’s only a chance of making it despite the work and planning.

People bought townhouses where I am in 1999 for $100k and now they’re $1.2 million. My childhood home that we bought for $100k in the late ‘90s and sold for almost the same in the early ‘00s is $1.9 million. Your argument is “well it’s just in fiat” retard everything is denominated in fiat.

The problem is that getting 1 million requires having close to 2 million. Because 2 million in capital gains after taxes is more like 1.3 million in some states. So you have to make multiple million to keep one single million. if you look at it that way, 1 million after taxes is kind of a lot because it was originally much more than just 1 million.

Fuck you, OP, 100K is a lot, not to talk of 1M. 1M is my retirement plan; once UTK pumps around 10X, I'm good to go.
