according to the rules the threads used to have when they were more regular, cosplay wouldn't really be acceptable. an exception would be if the interpretation of the character is loose/unique and jfashion-related enough that the drawing produced would very clearly be a drawing of "you" in your outfit and not just a piece of fanart of whichever character you are cosplaying.

I think there are very few lolitas here who would dump on someone just because they aren't attractive for lolita fashion/j-fashion standards, even when the coord is great.
That tends to get called out.
I think it grinds our gears when someone self posts, they think they look good (good enough to be drawn by someone in this case), when in reality they look awful because they don't style their hair, they wear clothes that don't fit them and are not good at building cohesive outfits. If she has masculine features that is something that works against her, so she has to compensate for that.

If you still think this is just us insulting her because she's ugly, take a moment to look at the picture. It's absolutely delusional to post a picture of yourself when your blouse is gaping at multiple points and you did not take care of your hair. Even worse when you expect to be someone's muse. It gets even worse if you believe her claim of being on 4chan for years. She should have known better.
Figuring out how to style your hair in a way that works with the fashion you're wearing is part of doing the bare minimum, and she can't even do that.

Anyone have a good tldr on doing booths at conventions? Thinking of doing a combination one with a few other artists but we're really starting from scratch. Just need a good idea on what to sell, good vendors to reach out to, and the expected costs associated with it. And generally how convention boothing works.

I don't. I always start with a loose gesture to get a feel for the pose and movement I'm looking for. I'll add details to that sketch and once I'm happy with the overall blueprint, I lower the opacity a bunch on that layer and do clean linework on a new layer. If I'm painting instead, I paint directly on top of the sketch layer and work in as few layers as possible because my painting brushes work best when mixing over an underpainting.

If you're looking for tips about drawing human anatomy, the very best thing you can do is attend a live figure drawing class and supplement that by challenging yourself to draw quick gesture drawings in public like at a cafe or on the train. It's all about trusting your eyes and hands to record what you see.
