the events in general suck at Animazement. It would be still worth going if the parties were good like Colossal or even Ichibancon but that’s not the case. The parties and vibe are okay I guess. Some cons have far worse but Animazement stills feels bleh

Crowd management, lol. Even though that's not really a problem at this convention. Same things happen at festivals.
>>10952942
For sure, it was nice to see more goers being conversational.
>>10952894
I did too. I like small conventions because I fucking hate shit being packed and I like how things feel more intimate. I pop an edible and get lost in the sauce, I don't get the gripe about small cons.

Had decent guests I went to last year and studio orange.
Honestly people gassed uppmo and after going to it this year I kinda see an appeal for people wanting eng va autographs and aome game directors or people who stay in games rooms +dealer/artist alleys. Panels at Momo were significantly worse cordinated and handles, I didn't even think it was possible to have so many technical difficulties especially compared to AZ panels who have a fraction of the staff.
Anonymous No.10953071 >>10953075
>>10953022
I can agree with this I got a lot of nicer industry panels that aren't just producers or aging voice actors from shounen series. But then again younger people seem to just never go to panels anymore, even the bl and yuri ones are empty for the last few years at different cons.

For my my favorite memory was asking the director of fruits baskets anout his time directing nurse angel ririka after his panel where he dorked out over ninjas. That was a long time ago now though. I've learned a lot of panels are really not worth going to, most people are not funny or charismatic enough to make a panel fun, and there's THAT type of faggot who makes panels even shittier than just mediocre
I literally went to one panel that was set up to basically have the hosts do improv responses to questions and every time I asked something funny the fat whale host literally just said "no" or didn't understand the references to joke videos with millions of views about the panel subject and shut down the bit instantly
like nigga how can you be so fucking unfunny holy shit no wonder there are so many gays

nagahama this year said he'd love to come back to AZ just to keep talking about industry shit he never could say to any fans in japan, he also said he's really appreciative of anyone who actually cares about production and the actual industry and he drew a full fucking illustration of whatever you wanted for an entire line of people for 3 hours straight

you just can't get this kind of thing anywhere else, not even if you went to japan to see them where everything is way more strict and formal between fans and seiyuu or otherwise
Anonymous No.10953080 >>10953086
>>10953075
Thats why I move between them all. Problems is that I feel like younger people see one bad panel then give up on them. I really miss the hetalia and homestuck era of cons since people were more involved even when the panels were shit.
I feel like I'm getting to old for cons now though since I'm nearly 30.
Anonymous No.10953081 >>10953084
>>10953078
Yeah I basically got the same response even from VAs, unprompted Noriko Hidaka just started talking about seta soujiro since I was cosplaying them that year and went to her panel last year.
Friends all want to go to momo for dealers room, arcade and vrubers but the vibes there kinda sucked in comparison. I only really had people to talk to like I do at AZ at one ribbon manga panel and the arcade very early in the morning.

noriko hidaka last year was amazing, hearing her answer my question about anno saying that he acted out all the gunbuster attacks while directing her is just the coolest shit ever
I love being able to hear stories from people who are directly involved at the source, and it seems like everyone else in those panels was the same because the quality of the questions were actually incredibly high by basically everyone who asked something
maruyama said he strongly prefers making something for a small but very passionate audience, and going to all these panels and seeing them maybe half full or not even that but you know every single person in there loves that thing to death and it's really awesome
that's the kind of thing that made cons great and was everywhere decades ago before anime was more mainstream

the 30+ year olds are the most interesting people at conventions, you're thinking backwards

that's the case with everyone from that generation, look at daicon 4, it's full of star wars and 80s hollywood references
anime originally was inspired by disney, it all comes full circle
it's not even just in anime, look at someone like kojima who's one of the most well regarded nip creatives in the industry, huge fucking westaboo
i think it's just that the cultures are so different the really high quality stuff is even more interesting when it's so different from everything else your country makes, westaboo otaku amd weeaboo otaku are two sides of the same coin

What this anon said, if you're asking this after a decade you need to address the problems with yourself in your life at the age you're now at and be a better human being overall.
If this is the mentality you're going with every time you go to a convention or just being around women in general you have serious problems overall as a person.
