Why did cgl lie to me?
>be me
>con this weekend
>feel I am tool old (29) and need to hang up the costume
>get invited to con, birthday sucked so say might as well
>we all do some basic leftover cosplay nothing big
>meet my /v/ros and /g/eeks all about the same age outside one guy we will call Steve
>steve is 36 became a /fit/ faggot not really buff doesn't even have a six pack and really isn't like what you see on /fit/ but w/e
>faggot does crossplay(love live, miku, etc) for memes he's not even 6ft like the rest of us
>36 year old faggot somehow getting more attention than anyone despite being way older than us and barely fit like has good arms I guess
>day 0, friday, saturday drunk and bonucing between room parties like he's a college frat person like a fag
>no one is even asking his age even see some girls flirting with him who are probably like 24
>meanwhile our group is basically ignored(we were doing old cartoon network stuff and my friend was doing a TACO meme)
>even when people sobered up people were like "Oh hey steve!"
What the fuck gives? I'm sobering up at the airport right now and looking back this just makes me more pissed off I stopped doing cons because everyone was saying "25 is too old for cosplay" and covid kinda solidified that. I don't get how he wasn't seen as a creep or divorced dad. Are women and zoomers actually this fucking stupid? Why should some faggot who is 36 get more attention than people who aren't giant faggot shitposters. He's too old right?

be me is a meme you newfag

also this is too close to reality to be bait it might be bait but I know people exactly like OP. the thing op is the faggot for is not realizing personality is key. you can have the best cosplay in the world but if you're an insufferable jerk it doesn't matter. same goes for bad cross play you can have terrible temu cosplay but a good personality and be the star. no one actually cares about how old you are as long as you aren't grabby or weird, this isn't highschool. I've seen a 40 year old built omniman have college girls try to chat him up

Jesus Christ you’re getting what you fucking deserve. You put effort into cosplay that isn’t some obscure retarded shit or very visibly low effort and I PROMISE you people will notice. Take the armor pill, build something worthwhile and stop being such a whiny and self important faggot. Don’t like the attention you’re NOT getting? Do something about it then

This isn't bait I legitimately thought giving up cosplay and doing one last hurrah. AFO was such a waste of time it makes me sad, my dexters lab outfit was confused with meme man dr pepper shit. It's again just odd to me how many people defend older cosplayers, AGE IS A FACTOR. I just don't get how some eccentric person could get people to like him. It's not good to be eccentric.

He didn't even try to do his cosplay right (forgetting to shave, slapping it together in 5 minutes with his fat ass out, doing bloody mary's in the morning) and it kinda pissed the room off. You can't seriously think you're strong when you barely have anything resembling a 6pack.

>>10955097
>Friend doing political meme cosplay in a time where that shit can get you cancelled
Dude we were in Florida, people HATE trump there (reading the discord anyways)so we thought it would be an easy win to get some room party stuff by doing it. We don't hate trump or care about politics all that much but it's what all the femanons are on so worth a shot.

Lesson learned if /cgl/ says it's one way do the opposite this thread is proof. Cons were fun but after 30 that seems to be the dead stop hard limit for anyone with a functional brain.

Maybe it took on a new meaning, but eccentric usually means someone who is creative or "off the wall" with whatever situation they are in, usually thrown around in comedy. It sounds like your "friend" wasn't taking things too seriously and was chill which lead him to be socially accepted by others.
>it's what all the femanons are on so worth a shot.
Have a free (You) this isn't bait, this is the average gull incel who is terminally online and needing to do whatever to be a clout chaser. I hope this thread stays up so we can laugh at (you)

If OP wants to make cosplay friends he needs to play by the communities rules. I also agree that canceling isn’t really “real” in an irl sense especially if you have a cosplay crew of your own already who has an actual sense of humor that isn’t hugbox af but it sounds like OP (who is a faggot) doesn’t have that luxury

OP have you considered that you don’t get it, precisely because you’re overly concerned about what he is doing? You deserve the experience you got because you centered what he was doing rather than focusing on yourself. Being eccentric isn’t the crime you think it is, you’re just paralyzed by cringe culture and as a result ended up being socially retarded anyway.

Consider that just maybe you’ve been the bigger faggot in this situation. Learn to let it go or quit cosplay because you’ll keep running into this same miserable situation and running back to /cgl/.

The people who are quite strong in functional strength rarely do have a full six pack. Anyone can get a six pack if they are willing to do sit-ups and planks daily while maintaining a low BF %. To hit natty huge muscles and the hugh jackman sixpack it requires an insanely strict diet no weeb is going to follow.

You have no idea how little effort it takes to get peoples attention when it comes to physical fitness. Especially these days when I see early to mid 20 y/o's looking like absolute shit.

Been a lie and always was a lie. I've been doing and improving my tacticool SCP cosplay for 3 years now, turning 30 this year, meaning I started well after 25. that's when it becomes a benefit

Seriously though, some of the interactions I've had with younger women lately really make me wonder how bad things are, I thought I was an awkward shy loser since I couldn't cold approach women and "rizz" them the way most of my friends could back in the day but the way zoomer girls light up just from casual friendly conversation is wild, makes me think that zoomer guys really are staring at their feet and giving minimal one-word answers whenever they interact with a woman or something, I thought that shit was just a meme.

>don't even think of touching them because skinship isn't a thing for many people
>if you dare to even ask a woman out, you'll be shamed on social media (anyone remember seeing that ronawang twitter shit? infuriating - some guy had dared to ask a girl out with a note, and that ronawang person posted it to mock the dude)

and surprise, in recent years, there have been articles moaning about how men aren't approaching women anymore. Oh, well. That's a US problem.

Believe me, I get all that, and I'm as chickenshit as the next guy when it comes to actually cold approaching women or trying to escalate stuff beyond casual conversation, but I'm shocked by the apparent lack of interaction even in situations where you're already talking to somebody for whatever reason. Even us older millennials have gotten a ton of the shit that scares us off most of our lives, maybe not quite as bad as zoomers though it depends on your upbringing (I was in big blue city public schools and had a narcissistic feminist mom so I was filled with "men are so creepy and horrible" shit my whole life) but I can at least crack an appropriate joke and carry on some small talk.

>AGE IS A FACTOR.
If your friend is mid 30's, mildly in shape, and has their youth about them. Welcome to the real world then anon, girls and others actually like that. It's a hint that the person might be well off financially.

This isn't highschool or college where it's weird that a senior is dating a sophomore and people go WTF. The age gap of women dating older men is only increased after covid as women are looking for stability and financially well-off people compared to the robbed zoomies who got fucked over hard with Covid. Last few friends I know who got con gf's or ~nerdy~ girls had a 5-8 year gap, this isn't twitter shit like that in the real world is becoming far more wide spread. No one wants a broke ass zoomie with 10k debt that lives at home because covid basically nerfed their chances at work and social growth.
