It's time to talk about the OF question.
Is it really that common for cosplayers to hop into the OF/patreon/etc bandwagon? In my area, it really isn't common at all, and most cosplayers I know have to work regular jobs to fund their cosplays.

I've seen a few threads on twitter reminiscing about the 2000s era of cons, and it seems like some people really think that most cosplayers are OF thots now. I fucking wish that was true, as a coomer.

I've made posts along those lines. OF itself isn't THAT common, I don't know many cosplayers doing actual porn, but what really has changed is that pretty much all cosplay is internet-centric in one way or another. Back in the '00s, the main audience for cosplay was other people at the con and it was rare for photos to end up online at all unless somebody like EBK caught you and posted the pics in one of his giant image dumps. Nowadays everybody has an FB page, insta, tiktok, twitter, etc. and cosplay is all about that social media profile, cons are all about photoshoots, etc.

Cosplay has been for-profit for the last 15 years, at least in the US. It's not that common for a cosplayer to have OF, but it's very common for them to have Patreon or some other panhandling method. Having said that, if you're a coomer and find an e-girl that cosplays and peep her linktree, the chances of her having an OF are considerably higher.

The point is that it's totally changed the focus of cosplay, though. It used to be a crafting-focused hobby centered around in-person events, now it's basically just amateur modeling.

as the other anon said, this wasn't the case, 15 years ago lels, and cons were probably nerd-central

No? You can count OF cosplayers with one hand, heck most of the OF 'cosplayers' don't even go to cons and just buy suits to do porn with

It's a growing topic, in fairness. Like OP said, there are people outside of the community with this idea that "most cosplayers are OF whores"
which just isn't true even in the US, as far as I can tell.

When people say "There are ancient threads still up", they mean one clown talking to himself
>Yes
>I agree

it "isn't true" until a saudi pings their IG with an offer of covering them in gold in exchange for fucking them in every hole and literally shitting on them
I haven't seen this with cosplayers, but with IG thots, now tell me how blurry the line is between the IG thot and the IG thot + cosplay

You're on Twitter. It's one of the most NSFW-friendly platforms around. Of course every other cosplayer you see on there has an OF. They've gotten nuked off TT and IG.

No. Like with everything if you go out enough eventually you'll run in to one of them. I met a literal pimp once at a con, shit was weird.

A lot of them don't actually have one but they do suggestive poses and wear very little clothing on their pages. They have wishlists and donation links in their bio for people to buy them specific cosplays and they throw in regular stuff too. Same wishlist websites regular sex workers use for that kind of thing. I know a couple of cosplayers that get the cosplay bought for them and then they list it as for sale after some uses but marked up. A lot of them are really slutty but don't explicitly do porn, just enough for it not to count.

I've also seen these twitter threads OP is talking about.

>dude, they're all OF whores now
>it used to be soooo good in le old days
These clowns would hate the era of the yaoi paddles and random glomping if they were actually there.
