this op. this is pretty retarded. there's no way buying all these packets was any cheaper than buying the same condiments in conventional packaging such as squeeze-ee bottles or jars. not to mention all the extra waste you're going to produce. and don't give an excuse like it's more convenient or whatever for yoyr job or neet lifestyle so you don't have to get up and walk to the kitchen. not an excuse. very third world behavior

What was the ounce/$? And again he has a point about waste. But really how is carrying packets around easier than what was actually shown on the box.

Bottles, once opened, need to be refrigerated for food safety.
Additionally, it's annoying having to pack condiment bottles, bring them to the outdoor activity, then bring them back and return them to the refrigerator.
With the packers, I can just grab the exact amount that I think will be needed. If they're all used up, then there is nothing more to think about. If there are some leftovers then they can be brought home, but if they get lost it's not a big deal either.

my work has some mustard packets in the break room that are at least 5 years old. I opened up a mayo packet once to see what it was like and the consistency was like a vegetable oil custard.

yeah it's a small concern, but when you combine it with all the other advantages of packets, it just makes sense to have a stockpile of condiment packets on hand

the amount of waste you're producing just for a minor convenience just doesn't sit right with me. I know most people don't really think about that kind of thing, but I really try to be mindful about my impact on the environment, doubly so when I'm doing outdoor activities like camping. I assume (or hope) that you at least pack all your trash up and take it back with you, but still, it's just ingrained in me to produce as little waste as possible when outdoors.

I guess I can kind of see the use if you were going on like a week long camping trip, but if you're just going out for a day or two then it makes more sense to me to just fill a little reusable container from a bottle. and even if you are going out for a whole week or something, presumably you have prepared a way to keep the rest of your food stored, so why can't you store some condiments anyway?

>the amount of waste
the amount of extra waste is probably negligible. a bottle containing the same amount of condiment requires plastic and other inputs to create.
>I assume (or hope) that you at least pack all your trash up and take it back with you
now this is just silly. of course dispose of my trash properly.
>little reusable container from a bottle
that's not a bad idea, but I'm just going to assume for no reason you would discard it in the woods. jeez anon you're so wasteful!

>the amount of extra waste is probably negligible. a bottle containing the same amount of condiment requires plastic and other inputs to create
but a typical condiment bottle can easily be reused. not the same for a little plastic packet which will just sit in a landfill.
>I'm just going to assume for no reason you would discard it in the woods
