Its honestly not bad - too dense for my liking though... and its hard to keep an open mind and not immediately dismiss it as another arm of the UAE's soulless corporate ambitions.

I've also had it in dessert pancake format and it really makes you feel dry with that kind of filling. That being said, who doesn't like chocolate and pistachio?

Its not that it's special. However it has never been and yet to become a 'gas station' candy bar. Its prior inaccessibility to the states combined with social media buzz marketing has made it popular. It tastes pretty good as any chocolate with pistachi creme would. I prefer the white chocolate variety bc it's better and usually cheaper

Its actually pretty good, pistachio cream/butter is a slept-on ingredient and those fried pastry strip thingies inside add a lovely crunch. It's jusy simply not worth it.

I don't really care about the food per se but it perplexes me to see NEETs who have never been abroad crying about human rights in the UAE, which they wouldn't even be able to find on a map

The whole thing seems like an astroturf campaign to distract from the fact that the US is spending billions to commit genocide in gaza and you can't even enter the US now unless you swear an oath that you've never said a bad word about the IDF and netanyahu

They don't even ask your opinion on the US, they just ask if you love israel. I wish I was making this up

>humble UAE candy?
It's not.
Pistachios are all across the Mediterranean too. I'd say from Italy to Greece is mostly how I think of them. Even Isreal. UAE would be dead last, which really only feels like a manufatured city, airport and faux tourist destination. Is there even any historical value or culture there? Nah. I have a jar of spreadable pistachio for toast from Italy in my fridge right now, and it's Italian. It's from travel, and it's really only a mood for small doses. It's better with cakes and pastries, and in gelato, than with chocolate though.

What was going through your mind when you wrote that? Do people think they're going to be seen as the next ibn battuta/marco polo/zheng he for announcing like spergs that dubai is mostly malls, offices, and hotels and doesn't resemble ancient kyoto? How is that interesting to say or to hear? Do you expect everyone to go "whoa, this guy is really well traveled" because you said something controversial or deeply insightful?

Bruh. Dubai doesn't have much in the way of "cultural products", at all. Chocolate is not native to the middle east and the middle east in general has no recent history of chocolate desserts like they have in western europe. What were you expecting?

You're not technically wrong and in this age of jews supporting nazis and bug chasers being put in charge of the health of what was once a major world superpower I guess it's good that zoomies have maintained a tenuous strand of grounding with reality, maybe I should just remind myself that I spend 10+ hours a week arguing with actual children on the internet and this reflects worse on me than it does on them

>What were you expecting?
I mean, at least they could have some meme date candy or something and I would find it more believable. In any case, it's not so much the ingredients I find off putting as much as the obvious forced advertising akin to, again, a forced meme.

You say you agree with me but I still don't get where you're coming from here. What do you mean by "believable"? Like you'd more easily believe that it was produced in a recently built city with skyscrapers and a monorail and some expensive hotels, compared to chocolate which has to be made by aztecs?

It's wet looking and it has sticks poking out. It's also nearly exploding out of the chocolate. Why? When you break it open it forces itself out like it's pressurized? Why is it splayed and splintered out beyond the edges?

It just looks unnatural and gross. The brightness, the sheen, the color. I don't see who's finding it appetizing. Looks like overcooked braised asparagus and broccoli which has been mashed with splinters of wood and stuffed into shitty chocolate boxes.

Why is it called UAE candy when neither of the ingredients come from the UAE?
Am I expected to believe that some lazy towelhead just pulled the recipe out of his ass one day while he was playing with his pet tiger?
Or is the more likely explanation that they just claimed it as their own after their abused Indian slave plopped it on a silver tray in front of them in a desperate attempt to escape that afternoon's mandatory whipping/attempted murdering?

Taste would be alright, but it's still overpriced as fuck.

Fun fact:Since they had a court order in the EU that it has to come from the UAE if it has Dubai in its name, there were several cases where tests had shown the stuff wasn't fit for human consumption. It adds an extra layer of irony that this was caused by traces of mineral oil in the product.

On the other hand, I can get pistachio croissants at every bakery now, for a more reasonable price. So that's nice.
