I visited my girlfriends family with her to Delhi. I went all out and tried street food. I had basic shit like baked potato but also golgappa and other weird poop looking stuff. I enjoyed them all. Stayed for a week or so and ate this all the time. Two nights before I left I had McDonald's there. Thought why not? Had picrel even. The next day I was shitting water like a fountain. I was eating poop from a butt off street vendors, I ate so many of those weird Paan tobacco leaf they light on fire and stick their fingers in your mouth. I went all in there and the only thing to make me shit was the McDonald's.

Vada pao is pretty good but it's something you pick up for 30 rupees ($0.34) on the street on your way to work, it's just a tiny snack, and it quite literally would not exist if your benevolent Portuguese colonizers didn't generously gift you potatoes, chilies, and soft bread. Not really a great example to feel superior about. A huge proportion of Indian cuisine is like that by the way, brought by colonizers throughout history. Also what's up with thinking that a quarter of a red onion and a wedge of lime is a salad? In Maharashtra especially, they can't serve a dish without a side of raw red onion. Like, what the fuck. It's not bad but it's weird, it really adds an atmosphere of "we're poor and not even trying".

In india we used to just make a pure veg burger with chese, pan fried bun, green sauce and mayonnaise. It was like 1$. same price as a nepali chow mien.
Best ones were made in Jamu.

memes aside, I have had it or its equivalent twice.
Once in India, and once in Taiwan. Both times it was underwhelming/disappointing. I think it's the fact that the chicken patties are breaded. It makes the whole sandwich feel like your just eating bread.

I would never get it again.
