I've lost a lot of weight cutting out sugar. Your body really wants the fat, so if you get a good splenda sugar substitute and make yourself a frozen berries, yogurt, and heavy cream smoothie, it tastes just like a totally unhealthy milkshake but it's "unhealthy" in that it's a lot of fat. With whole fat Greek yogurt you're getting protein too. Strawberries and blackberries are tart, so a little sugar-free hazelnut syrup like the baristas use and it's the most amazing meal/dessert/treat you can imagine. Keeps you full for hours on no sugar and tastes really bad for you.
I'd had no idea how far the artificial sweeteners had come in the last 20 years. I've had candies and ice creams and really amazing things that I couldn't tell the difference and didn't miss it because there's so much fat. Eat all the damn fat you want if you're off sugar. Ironically once you start eating fat you soon cease to be fat.
