nta but lite salt is half potassium which is arguably better for you in every conceivable way than regular salt. personally I use pure potassium salt since you get more than enough sodium from regular products. you only need like 500mg of sodium a day.

I've brought this up in the past but if we started adding real quantities of potassium to packaged foods we could lessen this country's high blood pressure epidemic enormously.

Potassium chloride is the easiest form to get and works fine for human nutrition. You can get bulk amounts like 40lb bags used for water softener or nusalt and other salt alternatives that's also just potassium chloride. I don't think there's really any difference between them, it's just KCl. Maybe "food grade" safety in manufacturing.

You can also fertilize your plants with it but not too much it can salt burn them. I would recommend potassium nitrate instead, added early in the season before anything starts growing. There's a prilled form that's kind of slow release.

500mg of sodium per day will give you heart failure. your heart is a muscle. it needs sodium to operate, and a hell of a lot more than 500mg.

Why is being alkaline an advertising point?
Also electrolyte content of water is SO irrelevant. You drink water for the liquid. Electrolytes you get from FOOD. A simple McD cheeseburgers will have more electrolytes than two packs of these.
And you also don't have to be afraid of any effects the "under-electrolytized" water might have when drinking. It first passes the stomach, FULL of electrolytes in the acid. Then it takes more electrolytes from the intestines. You can even drink destilled water no problem, it is already full of electrolytes when reaching the blood stream.

Look up fasting salts and get those, it's literally a mix of electrolytes for people who aren't getting them from diet so it's got was the body craves.

>>21417483 is right, you can't go too low on the sodium or you'll start having problems. I live in FL and sweat like a bitch just from going outside, and I started getting an intermittent arrhythmia. Blood work showed I was borderline hyponatremic, and I do not eat a low salt diet. I started taking some fasting salts in water before workouts or yard work and it cleared up.

hunter gatherers got like 500mg a day I'm sure if they made it then you'll be fine. your diet also affects how much salt you sweat and a low salt diet will cause you to lose less salt through your kidneys and sweat.

i am going to assume there is 0 proof of that estimation, unless you'd be inclined to provide us one. there is absolutely no way in hell hunter gatherer tribes ate an average of 500mg of sodium per day. they would sweat it all out. muscles need sodium. it is that simple. 500mg is on the dangerously low side. china and south korea consume an average of 10,000mg per day and they have less heart issues than most western countries. they sweat most of it out. you will die eating 500mg of sodium per day.

hunter gatherer tribes still exist that get their sodium almost exclusively from animal products. I wasn't implying this was optimal sodium intake, just that you can survive with much less sodium than you believe for pretty much your entire life and even during intense activity. your body adapts to your sodium intake.

China and sk have lower incidence of hbp but the incidence is disproportionately high for their obesity rate. They also have enormous incidences of stomach cancer due to massive salty pickled food intake. And diabetes due to excessive white rice consumption

Also I tried to follow the citation I found but the article is paywall at 40 dollars and I'm not that desperate for a 4chan discussion
