This is a disingenuous reddit argument offered up only by persons with a low enough IQ to overdose a substance by accident in the first place. It's totally meaningless. All substances have an LD50 and you can die from them but that makes zero sense to mention or call out since the therapeutic dose is what is being discussed.
Just because something doesn't kill you doesn't mean it isn't harmful and just because something can kill you doesn't mean it is not beneficial. Case in point, modafinil, methylphenidate and amphetamines all are more centrally stimulating than caffeine and are objectively better for you with long term use. Chronic high dose caffeine will cause fasticulations, tremors, arythmias. It's a shit drug that doesn't even keep you awake unless you have a small brain with densely packed neurons like a schizo.
Onanism is actually the most common and worthless addiction and make no mistake, it is still exerting harm. The immediate effects of it are increased inflammation (+cytokines, +prostaglandins) as an evolutionary mechanism to fight off STDs. During arousal and the act itself, it disrupts prefrontal functioning and leads one into an state of hypersexuality where the smallest distraction can. One becomes nothing other than a slave to this vice and does very little with his life. Same applies to food, evidenced by the bodies of the obese. Opioids are less psychologically addictive since any seeking behavior is not innate but learned. The worst things in existence are pornography, weed and alcohol. The brain damage and ruin is real and defenders of them can only say "IM CANT OD BROOOO" as a cope.
