I curse whoever invented this piece of shit object, I genuinely hope they are burning in the deepest pits of hell. I hate the way it looks, the way it sounds, the way it sits there in my kitchen taking up space, the way I got memed into buying this piece of shit thing and wasting more than 100 bucks on it, its just sitting there taunting me.

EVERY SINGLE TIME you use this thing its the EXACT same HORRIBLE experience

>put frozen food in
>bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
>PING
>(insert annoying ass alarm sound)
>touch the food
>outside is boiling hot
>inside is freezing cold
>put it inside again
>BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
>PING!
>outside begins to dry up and become rubbery
>inside becomes mushy and disgusting
>you've wasted 5 minutes of your life expecting something different to happen from the last 100 times you've used it

At this point why not just use the oven?
>B-B-B-BUT IT COSTS LIKE 2 CENTS MORE ON YOUR BILL!!!
who fucking cares man, its a million times more consistent and takes about the same amount of time, ,microwaves are the bane of my existence.

My mother and I haven't used our microwave in a very long time. If it weren't for my father and his penchant for ready-made frozen slop, we would have likely got rid of our microwave a long time ago. For any one who has a basic knowledge of how to cook, the microwave is completely superfluous and daresay a waste of space and money.

Point taken, but that is not a necessity for me, let alone most people. If time is such a factor, perhaps microwaves should be reserved for professional kitchens that have severe time constraints, and that the average person does not necessarily need on. The insult was not necessary.

>>21425477
I would suggest to make portions adequate for that meal so that you do not have such leftovers. Concerning reheating (not that it should be necessary to begin with), that is a patience issue, and if you lack it, that is your problem and not a reasonable justification for owning a microwave.

Same here OP. I got rid of my microwave about a decade ago and never looked back. You literally DO NOT need one.
I will say though there are proper ways to heat up certain foods efficiently, plus quickly...but eh... it alway tastes weird.
my basic understanding of a microwave is...it basically just micro boils all the water in your food to heat it up.
I used to think it was good for left overs but its so much better to just throw your left overs in a oven or pot/pan on the stove top.

Most everyone understand that it’s microwaves that are causing the food to heat up, but your lucky to find someone who doesn’t think it’s some sort of cancer causing nuclear energy. Very few people have even a passing understanding that microwaves heat things by atomically jiggling them.

ahh, low end model that was cheap. I see now.

The built-ins, like the kind you get over the range are larger, have effective defrost settings, and tend to cook evenly based on higher wattage and rotating trays. It sounds to me that you don't understand how to microwave at 50% power, stir items, or have resting time. Keep trying or replace the crappy version you bought.

I use my microwave daily, just to rewarm an already prepared mug of coffee that had fcooled off, or to defrost meat to make for dinner or to do a steam-in-bag vegetable side, or cook some sweet or baked potatoes, it varies. I had to go 4 days without a microwave at my lake house, til my appliances-repair appointment to replace it, and I truly realized how much I relied upon it. There are some items that are real convenience foods that I would never heat an oven to do, like a marie callendars pot pie (5 mins vs 60 in the oven). Breakfast items would need to be fast, too, and usually come out crisp.

P.S. There are youtube videos that instruct you how to disable the BEEP repeating annoyance.

I have recently destroyed my microwave due to trying to boil 3 eggs. They literally exploded (alongside with the microwave, dying). I can never get the temperature right, its either food coming out cold while the plate is hot to the touch, or, eggs boiling and exploding in less than 3 minutes. The oven options is so weak, it takes 15 minutes to de-thaw a frozen pizza. I didnt buy this unit btw, just got it as a present. Call me retarded but I just hated it and Im glad that its finally dead

Not him, but one of the uses of a microwave is to avoid the expense of heating up your whole house and oven to run a small lightbulb amount of energy in a microwave for a few minutes instead.

I'm sorry, OP, but you need to read the back of the box and know how to use the percent setting, not just cook time. 30% power for defrosting, and 50% power for thick items, before finishing up on 100% for a couple of minutes. Operator failure, in other words. Stop being a newb!
As far as a plate being too hot...uhh, use a pot holder, or a different plate or mug that isn't ceramic or porcelain.

Kek, I got really good at making hardboiled eggs with my last microwave, but one night I accidentally forgot to enter the power level and all 4 eggs exploded.
Should have taken some pictures and made a thread; blew the door open and sprayed eggs and water all over the kitchen, even the ceiling.
Took about an hour for me to clean it up and I was still finding eggshells in weird places for a few days; somehow some of it got behind the microwave, like it bounced off the wall and came back.
