>>21451837This is true, sorta. Not necessarily halal but certainly some sort of brown from "over there."
Several places in the Philadelphia area all went to Indian owners, weirdly almost always Gujaratis. Gujaratis are the Indian subtype most likely to be vegetarian. In fact, while I'm sure they exist, I have never met a Gujarati who wasn't veg. Or, at least, wasn't mostly veg. I know one guy who eats chicken outside of the house when his wife isn't around but won't eat any other meat.
Anyway, so they bought several of the hoagie shops once Mom and Dad got too old to run them and the kids didn't want to do it and they justโฆ run them into the ground. I honestly don't know what they're doing, but without the old greaseballs running them, people just kinda stop going so every time an Indian takes over, it's guaranteed the place will fail.
Halal types take over pizza and cheesesteak places, swapping out the pepperoni for beef, the ham for turkey ham, the bacon for turkey or beef bacon etc.
>>21451828Nah, bruh. I've had some absolute shit sandwiches from those sorts of places.
>>21451808Adding on to you, Lidl has surprisingly good baked-in-store bread. The demibaguettes can sub in for hoagie rolls pretty easily.
