>>21431472 (OP)When I was poor I would accumulate tins of oysters, sardines, tuna, sometimes salmon, anything cheap at the day. Then I would mix everything up with a can of spinach and whip it all together into kind of a paste and fry it in a skillet with some salt and butter. Maybe a bit of cheese had I any handy. I'd spread the results on some toasted bread and it was nice sometimes. Other times it tasted terrible but at least it was filling.
