Why are these even a thing? If you have to eat it with a knife and fork, why not just get a regular roast dinner? With a roll on the side? What's the point of this thing?

It's not like the meat is great anyway. In fact it seems like an excuse to serve lower-quality beef instead of proper roast beef/turkey/etc.

Someone, make this make sense.

I actually like a slice of toasted bread under a couple slices of roast beef, covered in gravy, mushrooms, onions. There is flavor in the toasting of the bread, and the texture of it softened and crispy edged is nice. What you have pictured is diner food. I wouldn't slice it that paper thin. My roast would have crust and edges that are seasoned, and the texture wouldn't be fully fall apart like that. It'd be substantial for knife and fork enjoyment.

I was introduced to something similar at my grade school. It was a "Hot Turkey" sandwich except the bread was also on top and then they drenched the whole thing in gravy. It was okay but I never saw it outside of school, I guess because my family didn't go to diners.

You dont have to eat a sandwitch with a knife and a fork... You just lift it up and hold it from the side with your thumb, and from other side/bottom with the rest of your fingers...

Because a standard sandwitch can only get you so much sloppa before it breaks apart. You can max out your ingredients and it make a mess. Get that meatball sub with extra sauce. You’ve got utensils
